Now I do. I bought a 2007 883 for my other half.
The bike came with V&H short shots. They will stay on. I know there not the best for power. She won't be happy with anything making less noise.
I just want to make it a little more snappy for her. I just got the SE air cleaner kit for the bike.
Dealer said don't put it on without us tuning it. It will hurt the bike. Then said the dyno would be around $600. Not sure if that includes parts. I thought WHAT.
Then I venture into the Internet reading the millions of threads on the subject.
I get the high heat issue and fine tuning it. Closed loop vs open.
Now I'm just trying to figure out which system would suit us best.
The bike will never have more than these pipes and SE cleaner. I don't want to constantly retune the thing. I want to set it and just let her ride. I'm not changing cams or making it a 1200.
There's dozens of these things on the market, including this system from nightrider that's just a couple wires. I'm not interested in multiple maps and tuning on the go. I just want to set it for our aftermarket parts that will allow the bike to stay cooler, healthy and take what advantage of the pipes, air cleaner we can.
I have looked at the fuel moto company which sends you the device already programmed.
Anyone have a recommendation for our situation?
Thank you

save yourself the aggravation, take it to get it tuned.
you will never just download a map or add a fuel-er and get that combination dialed in proper.
canned map are just that ,a place to start the tuning process.
find a good dyno tuner and use what they use.
