Question from Michael M, entitled "Re: Map help please?

2007 FLHTP
103 (not screaming eagle)
Stage I download and AC
B and E Maxflow mufflers. Similar to SE Touring slip ons but they flow better (so they say).
O2 sensor eliminators installed.

I've tried a couple of the standard maps but haven't been real happy with them. The map I've been using is M812-7. I like how it runs around town but out on the highway and accelerating to highway speeds it seems to be too lean and feels kinda wimpy. Same at high speeds. Feels like its running out of steam.

So, it just has the 103 big bore cylinders and the rest of the engine is stock?

Do you plan on changing the cams in the near future?

I suspect the reason you feel the bike is running out of steam is the cams.

Yes, the rest is stock.

Not in the near future.

It ran better on the top end before I started using this map. Should there be any difference between a map for a 103 vs a 96?

Engine size is going to affect fueling requirements.

If it ran better "before you started using map -007" what settings, if any, were you using then? I need as much detail as possible if I am going to help you.

What settings worked better?
Where exactly do you call "top end"? All of wide open throttle? Only near redline?
What RPM and TP% ranges would you say worked well with the -007 map?

First of all thanks for your help!

I will make note of the specifics (throttle position, engine rpm. etc.) tomorrow. I'm going on a bit of a ride which will include some highway miles as well.

It was my hope there was a 103 map already developed.

All the maps we have are already posted on the web site. We can try to tweak what we have based on your feedback.

I am leaving for Europe and will not be back answering posts until after the 17th.
