'09 883N: New Supertrapp 2:1 map????

Hi guys,

Right now I have a '09 883N w/ V&H Short Shots, Arlen Ness Big Sucker, and a PCV running the Short Shots map. Ordered the Supertrapp Supermegs 2:1 last week and will be swapping it out soon. Looked in the PC website for a map but couldn't find one. So where can I get a map for the new exhaust system?

Thanks in advance.

I would say to start with the M15-002-021 and let me know how that works for you. We can make some adjustments to it if need be based on your feedback.

That map is for the 1200, I have an 883. Would it still work then?
I might try running the M15-001-007 map.

Sorry, I was looking at the wrong model. My mistake.

Yes, try that map and let me know how it goes.

Tried the map out, seems to be working fine. But while in 1st from a stop, the bike feels like it's hesitating until I get to about 20MPH then I can feel the bike move. Other than that, there's no popping at all.

Give this a try and let me know if it helps from a dead stop.

Thanks Mr. Dynojet... It feels a little more responsive now from a dead stop.

Going from a short open exhaust system to a 2:1, I've found that the bike runs a little hotter. Plugging my laptop into the PCV shows that the engine temp. is around the 240's. Is this something I can resolve with the fuel mixture or is it just a characteristic of a 2:1 system being more restrictive on the exhaust than a shorter exhaust system?

The 240 you see is cylinder head temp, not oil temp. 240 is not that hot.

What made you change the exhaust? Which map are you running now?

Everything just feels hotter on the bike than before. I'm still running the map that you sent me on Friday.
I changed from the Short Shots to the Supertrapps for mainly two reasons. 1) I wanted a little more low end torque back that I lost with having short pipes and 2) the Supertrapps sounds a lot better than the other pipes. It's a deep low rumble compared to the loud raspy short pipes.

Aside from your perceived change in "heat" how is the running?

From a dead stop it feels a little better than before. There's a little vibration when accelerating in 4th gear; I can live with it. Other than that, the bike seems fine. I appreciate your help.

If you can figure out what RPM and roughly what TP% we may be able to make some changes for the vibration. It just depends on how much time you want to spend trying to sort it out.
