Mr. Dynojet, your opinion please

Is there a closer map than M807-119 for my 2003 FLHTCI which has a Stage 1 HD download, 95" flat top pistons, Supertrapp SE with true dual headpipes and torque cones, SE Air Cleaner, and now 203 cams?

Have you already tried this map? It would seem like a reasonable place to start.

First off, thanks for replying. Every day there are a lot of requests of your time for map info so I appreciate it.

Let me explain where I am coming from..

..at one extreme you have your bike dynoed, and a custom map loaded...100% tuned for your exact setup.

...at the other exteme you have a generic canned map where your bike runs reasonably well

...and in the middle, you have the exact setup that the canned map describes. While a dyno would be better, the exact setup is better than a close match.

I am 5 hours away from the nearest dynotune facility, so for the moment lets agree that a canned map is my best option.

I am using M807-95inchtrudualstage2ecm. It doesn't always want to idle when restarted hot, or when I stop at a light, but that problem is intermittent and can be solved by just rolling the throttle while sitting. I have my doubts that this is the correct map because it says Stage 2 ecm. I have a HD SERT Stage 1 ECM.

I was told it refers to my now Stage 2 setup (big bore and cams) but I am not convinced, I think it is for my setup but with an ECM that already had a Stage 2 HD download. I received the map to go with the Supertrapp SE's that I purchased used.

I ask which map is closest to my setup because like most people who have spent time and money on their bikes, we are always searching for the best state of tune based on our budget and options.

For example, maps M807-107 and M807-119 are identical to my setup except for the mufflers. One is for V+H slash cuts, and one is for V+H ovals. I know my bike would probably run fine with either map, but is one better for my setup than the other?

One option would be to remove my Supertrapp SE's/ HD 98b's and install a pair of either of the V+H's, then the canned map, while still being generic, would be an exact match for my setup.

I know that there are several maps that would work with my bike and that I should try them, tweak them, etc. I guess that since a dyno is out of the question at the moment, I'm looking for confirmation that I have the closest thing to an exact match.

On the earlier bikes the Stage level of the ECM makes a bigger difference. I would suggest using the M807-107 as a base point (the 119 is pretty close as well).

Using a map made for a Stage 2 ECM will put you further away from where you need to be than the above maps.

Try the 107 map and let me know how it works. If you can give me some detailed feedback I will try to help you as much as possible over the internet.

A little clarification...

I stated I had the Stage 1 Sert, I was told by a third party that these were the correct definitions for Sert ....

Stage 1:

Configuration: 1550 SE A/C and Mufflers
Components:
• SE Air Cleaner and Breather Kit P/N 29440-99B
• SE 1550 Big Bore Cylinders P/N 16546-99 or 16549-99
• SE 1550 Flat Top Pistons P/N 22851-99A
• SE Performance Touring Mufflers P/N 65115-98B or 65116-98A

by adding 203 cams, this is what I would need from a HD Sert...

Stage 2 :
Configuration: 1550 Stage 2
Components:
• SE Air Cleaner and Breather Kit P/N 29440-99B
• SE 1550 Big Bore Cylinders P/N 16546-99 or 16549-99
• SE 1550 Flat Top Pistons P/N 22851-99A
• SE 203 Cams P/N 25937-99B
• SE Performance Touring Mufflers P/N 65115-98B or 65116-98A

So I called the shop and they looked up my file and said what I have is..."Stage 1 Big Bore Download 32847-02, what I need is "Stage 2 Big Bore Download 32853-02A"

If you have the Stage 1 burn then use the map I recommended. That is what was used to develop the map. There is no need to switch to the Stage 2 reflash.

Tried M807-107 bike would not start

Tried M807-119 bike starts easier and idles better than the map I was given with my used pipes.
(M807-95inchtrudualstage2ecm).

I'm going to stick with M807-119.

Thank you for your time, greatly appreciated.

There is no reason that the bike would not start with the -107 map installed.

What can I tell ya...tried the 107 first and it would just crank over real slow, removed the PCIII, brought it in the house and loaded 119....the 119 gave one crank and bang away she went

That's fine, just saying there is no techincal reason for it. I'll bet if you loaded it back in it would start. As long as it is running well leave it be.
