First off, thanks for replying. Every day there are a lot of requests of your time for map info so I appreciate it.
Let me explain where I am coming from..
..at one extreme you have your bike dynoed, and a custom map loaded...100% tuned for your exact setup.
...at the other exteme you have a generic canned map where your bike runs reasonably well
...and in the middle, you have the exact setup that the canned map describes. While a dyno would be better, the exact setup is better than a close match.
I am 5 hours away from the nearest dynotune facility, so for the moment lets agree that a canned map is my best option.
I am using M807-95inchtrudualstage2ecm. It doesn't always want to idle when restarted hot, or when I stop at a light, but that problem is intermittent and can be solved by just rolling the throttle while sitting. I have my doubts that this is the correct map because it says Stage 2 ecm. I have a HD SERT Stage 1 ECM.
I was told it refers to my now Stage 2 setup (big bore and cams) but I am not convinced, I think it is for my setup but with an ECM that already had a Stage 2 HD download. I received the map to go with the Supertrapp SE's that I purchased used.
I ask which map is closest to my setup because like most people who have spent time and money on their bikes, we are always searching for the best state of tune based on our budget and options.
For example, maps M807-107 and M807-119 are identical to my setup except for the mufflers. One is for V+H slash cuts, and one is for V+H ovals. I know my bike would probably run fine with either map, but is one better for my setup than the other?
One option would be to remove my Supertrapp SE's/ HD 98b's and install a pair of either of the V+H's, then the canned map, while still being generic, would be an exact match for my setup.
I know that there are several maps that would work with my bike and that I should try them, tweak them, etc. I guess that since a dyno is out of the question at the moment, I'm looking for confirmation that I have the closest thing to an exact match.
