Question from softcustom07

I've got an 07 Softail Custom with Stage 1 and Big Radius 2 in to 2 and cannot find a custom map.

anyone have one or know how to get it?
I have the standard map that came with the PC III usb but I think the ignition settings are off because I get some "Pinging" or "knocking" under acceleration and gas mileage is only getting about 30 mpgs

softcustom07,
a "custom map" is one that is done on your exact motorcycle. A map that was done on someone elses is no longer "custom" per se.

What map are you currently running and where exactly (rpm wise) is the pinging happening at?

Question

I have the original Map that was loaded when I got the pc III in april 08.

As for the "tapping" or "knocking", it is usually on heavy acceleration load.

Generally when riding 2 up and doing quick takeoff from a stop but more often when doing a moving acceleration like an on ramp / merge into highway traffic for instance.

As for RPMs, my bike doesn't have a Tach so I cannot say.
But I would guess generally at 50 - 70% throttle I guess?
Low end torque range at the lower end of the band for whatever gear I'm in at the time

we're down here in Myrtle Beach for bike week now and on thing I noticed is that the "tapping" / "knocking" is usually more often when it's at full running temp.

also remembered once we did some riding that it is Popping a little during deceleration in gear too.

while i was in myrtle beach I checked out the map I have and it is all my equipment except for the o2 sensors.
the map is setup for using the o2 sensor bypasses but I still have the o2 sensors in place.

what do you recommend?
a map with the o2 sensors in or installing the bypasses for them.

Why did you not bypass the O2 sensors as stated in the install guide? I just never understand why people think there is O2 sensors (stock ones anyway) are so magical.

All areas below about 50% throttle are not adjustable when you leave the O2 sensors plugged in. Also, leaving them plugged in with the PCIIIusb in place and fuel adjustments made in that area is just altering the long term fuel trims which may be the cause of some of your issues.

At this point install the O2 sensor bypasses and then load the map I posted. We can try to work from there.
