DFO // Crimp-on vs. OEM Connectors ?

Searched the threads for anything on this, with nothing in particular specific to the differences/comparison of the 2 styles.

Plenty out there using the DFO's with success, so I think that's the route I'm gonna go.

Any negatives to the Crimp-on variety vs. the OEM in-line connectors ?

Any overwhelming positives in going with the OEM connectors vs. the crimp-on installation?

Experiences? Horror Stories ?
Thanks in advance.. .

Stock (04 FLHRCI), currently...
Will be installed in conjunction with Ness Big-Sucker Air and Rinehart Slip-ons and enventually the Fullsac dual conversion kit.

Horror stories...... had 3 of them fail in 2 years. The first 2 just shut the bike down and threw a code rear Cyl no combustion. The last one failed only after it filled my crankcase up with fuel while running 90mph down a hwy in the middle of Texas and sucked a tank of fuel faster than I could drink a coke.
Running a reflash now and going to try a Fuel Moto power commander since she is still a little lean.

I would stay away from the DFOs. You can reflash and get a PCIII for a little more than you will pay for the DFO. JMO, I dont trust them any more.

I used the Stealth model. I don't see any reason to go with the crimp on style when a plug in style is available for a few bucks more.

I have nothing but good things to say about my DFO.

My DFO has worked flawlessly for over a year now. Mine is the crimp on style. It was easy to install, but you do have to cut into the insulation surrounding the main wiring harness just outside the ECM...plus a power wire from somewhere else (I think I used one of the wires going to the lights in my Ultra's tour pak. I also run a PC3, but I have its fuel cells all set to 0 and only use it for adjusting timing. If my PC3 were not the EX model, I might use its fuel control also, but the EX does not allow you to adjust the lower RPM/throttle settings. So my PC3 adjusts ignition only and the DFO handles fuel. The combination is working very well.

The previous owner had it crimped on and removed it before I got it. When I decided to put it back on I didn't want to re-crimp the wires again so I got the harness. The harness went on pretty easy, no issues for over 2 years.... I hope that doesn't jinx me.

OEM it is...

Very nice guys, that's what I was looking for. My original intent was the OEM's, then found the original Dobeck/TFI model was crimp-on...Ok, ok, I was looking to get out from under lifting the tank, I admit it !...

Doesn't seem to be a real problem and I gotta book.

Thanks for the responses. The countdown is on...
