Its not a new site it is more for their car stuff.
I spoke with someone at DTT and they said they should be back up in a day or so. He made a joke that they forgot to pay the bill.

Here's a Q for the experts....
While I'm dickin' with my AFRs, I start to wonder just where the engine temp sensor is at and what is it actually measuring... head temp? case temp? Oil?
( I suppose that answer is in my service manual)
And the second and important question- What is the ideal operating temp for an EFI twin cam per the readings stored in the DTT? My last hwy run averaged approx 110-115 C.
Normal????
Too Hot?

The sensor is located on the front cylinder head just behind the horn cowbell, and it's measuring the head temp on the intake port side.

The ideal temp is debatable, but above 100C is considered operating temp.
I would say that 180C is too hot, but you can get there or above in stop&go traffic on a hot day with little wind though.

Excellent, thanks Dogwood!
SO- I would say an operating temp of 120C would not be hot at all for a head temp, correct? Anyone else care to comment?

Conflicting cures...
I have what my be considered a basic question around here but I don't see it already addressed around here. I am pretty pleased overall with my DTT and the bike has run well enough this summer to allow me to start chasing a couple annoyances without feeling like I mess wih it more than ride it. The two quirks are a slight burble/popping on decel around 1500-2200 rpm that seems to be getting a bit louder as of late, and a slight hesitation or even a sneeze off idle if you whack the throttle quick. I've read enough to see the decel popping is often solved by removing fuel from those cells with the tps at 0%. I've also seen plenty of mention that the Asynchronous Fuel Gain should be left alone in favor of a richer AFR in those lower cells for improving throttle rsponse.
So...how do I cure the popping by leaning the same cells I need to fatten to cure the hesitaion?
As always, any help would be greatly appreciated.
See my signature for my combo.

Converting a TCFI-C cable to a Palm cable
Trying to put together the Palm TCFI-II View setup for tuning my TCFI-IID on my '07 Fat Boy. Bought a Palm VIIx for $11 bucks on eBay and now I guess I need the Palm cable from DTT. I have the TCFI-C PC-link cable and am wondering if I can convert it to the Palm cable by changing the serial DB9 terminal connections or the Deutsch 4-pin connections. Has anyone done this or know how to do this?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hope you find a nice, clear area to look down and check/change all this stuff while riding...

Yeah, I know what your saying, it really seems stupid to do this. I definitely plan to use it on an open and clear road and only briefly to figure out the loud single decel pop I am getting at a particular rpm.

Where are you getting the pop at? What rpm and is the throttle closed and what is your tps setting at when closed?

Curtis, thanks for the response. The pop seems to happen between 1500-2500 rpm with the throttle closed on decel. I'm not sure which tps setting you are referring to. I have attached my latest map.
PS: The folks at DTT tell me that you cannot convert the TCFI-C serial cable to the Palm cable. Rats. I think they want 70 bucks for that Palm cable.

What is the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) value at the time of the decel pop, usually this is 0% but could be 2.5% or even 5%.

You should included a .log file from the TCFI Log program, this would show you the information needed for the above.

I am curious as to why you have this area of the Front & Rear BLM Table "blocked out"?

Curtis helped me out on this map. The way I understand it is once those areas of the map are tuned, they are then set to 0 to keep them set. This prevents those cells from further adjustment. I may be off base a bit, but this is kind of how I understand it.
I am just learning this system and haven't come across the DTT for Dummies book yet (though wouldn't a book like that for this system be awesome?) and am open to any and all suggestions.
Actually, my bike is running really well, I just always seem to want to squeeze a bit more with my fiddling.
