Anybody else keep getting CKP codes? Mine is constantly throwing that code & I've changed sensors 3 times.

Is this one of the inherent DTT bugs (like turn signals NOT self cancelling)?

I have found that if you have some idle issues you get this code when the engine stalls. I get it every once in a while as well. I dont think that it has anything to do with the sensor condition. And I also think that it is an inherent problem with the DTT.... IMHO

My thoughts also about inherent with DTT... Upgrading to a TCFI III is $180, but if I see no advantage digging myself a deeper hole if the DTT products aren't up to snuff.

I have no idle issues (that are obvious) as the bike idles right around 1K RPM. Runs pretty good too but there is a little roughness if I'm poking around at 20mph or so.

That could be something that goes along with having a big motor / .640 lift cam, who knows...

Will try and get it to a KNOWLEDGABLE tuner that has a Dyno someday but right now it's my only transportation so gotta keep it near me.

I have found that a Dyno is still needed for the DTT system. I had mine where I felt it was running pretty good. (yes some idle issues but at WOT it was really good) I ran it on the Dyno and found a sizable slide in the torque and HP curve.. Just needed to add a little fuel to the AF table but doubt I would have found it without the Dyno run.
As has been said you can get it fairly close without a Dyno but you still need one to get it to the right place. So in the long run a SERT is about the same

I will admit that with my SERT my bike ran its best and got the best MPG even if they did set it up a little lean...

More codes from this mornings start up:

P0373 - CKP Signal Lost

P0505 - IAC Low

P0374 - Cylinder Sync Lost

What would cause 0374? First time I've seen that code...

Anyone got a pic of what a "good" Alpha-N table looks like? I guess there should be no large variations (peaks & valleys)?

Looked at the TCFI IID downloads that come on the program but they have some terrible looking Front Cylinder Trim Tables...

Was checking out the "Alpa-N Table Smoothing Guidelines" but have little idea what a smooth table should look like. YES, I know the definition of smooth but how much a variance should there be between the numbers?

FL I havent seen the 0374 yet, did you find out what it is yet.
I was looking at the Alpha-N table for the 01 Gerolamy and it doesnt have any spikes but it does have some pretty large peaks and valleys..
Not sure if that helps...

KT,

My Alpha-N table looks worse than the Gerolamy...

I wonder if theres a site somewhere that has all these codes on it? I've seen a few on DTT.

Codes...

I believe they are all in the directions if you look close enough. I know I've seen them all at one point or another but memory escapes me. One of them you guys keep bringing up will pop any time you have a stall. One of the others popped for me when one of the small wires running into my TCFI got broken. It equated to a bad or unplugged O2 sensor and I found the wire broken as soon as I popped my seat off. Had to re-route it and never saw it again.

I've printed off every TCFI IID document on the DTT website & I will review them for the codes.

Shame DTT doesn't have these codes readily listed on their site along with a section for others to post their maps?

VTF is the only forum I've found that has a DTT section.

FL,
here is a list of DTC codes from the SE Race Tuner manual. Sorry but this is from an 04 era SERT so you may get someone with a later version to get a listing of the later codes.
I found them in the help section of the Data Mode. Its specific name is the "Data Mode On-Line Help" section.

Thanks KT,

I read the DTT tech sheets till I almost fell off my stool and only found 4-5 codes.

Perhaps I missed some.

I'm wondering if someone here can answer a question concerning BLM tables.

I download my TCFI and Log's every day and compare the readings, it never fails that my BLM's are off here of there. Some pretty drastic...

To verify that I'm understanding what I think I'm reading, the tuning sheets state that I should ADD fuel to an overly high BLM number? (BLM reads 133 so I should add 33% to that and it will end up being 100? and if the BLM is reading 75 I subtract 25% to get to the 100%??

Or am I way off?

Apply Frt / Rear BLM's isn't the answer as the numbers are still in need of manual tuning at the end of the day.

Also have questions on Alpha-N tables but one thing at a time...

FL your welcome...

I am not sure how all this is applied sometimes. I have used the Alpha-N-Table to adjust my AFR but it doesnt always make sense.

I have a problem that is nothing less than baffling.
My bike starts very well and seems to idle ok at this point (probably still needs a little work) but as soon as I touch the throttle it will hesitate (but not die) and will continue to run pretty much ok (havent been out yet, to much snow, will ride today to see where we go).
Now I have looked at my Delta TPS % adder and it is maxed out at 120 from 0 to 100% (TCFI Settings) and and from -12 to -100 it is set at 95............
Now the Data Logging program shows a lean spike up as high as 19 to 20 to 1 when the throttle is opened.

I went into the Alpha-N-Table and increased the fuel in this area to bring the AF more into line (I was having a lean Idle problem in the rear cylnder only). This fixed the lean Idle issue.
Now after running the through the program with the change I still get the lean spike (hesitation) and now I get a BLM table that wants to reduce the pulse width on the front and rear. I am getting many 74 to 89's in the 0 to 2.5% zone at the 750 to 1500 range..

So my question is how do I bring the off idle hesitation problem under control especially since my delta tps is already maxed out....

KT, go to the asynchronous fuel gain in the advanced parameters table and increase it till the problem is gone. Just as a reference mine is at 190 for my 95".

Joe,, thanks, it was one of the first places I looked to for some adjustment but havent tied yet. So on that I will go and give it a try......

And since the Delta TPSN comes maxed out by DTT.. 120 from 0 to 100% On the negative side (decel) 0 to -100 it is at 95.. not much help there either.

I am going to try and see if I can adjust the IAC for a little help but it too is set very low.. 20 for a baseline number.....
Thanks again..
