Thanks for the quick response. I think I am unzipping them. my computer is vista and I am extracting the file. I end up with a .djm file that is only text. I dont see the .map file for my PC software to open.

Any ideas?

murphdog is an unknown quantity at this point
You should end up with .djm files. When you run PC3USB.exe and click 'Open Map File', you should see a list of all the .djm files. Double click any of them and it should open. Opening a file with a .map extension isn't an option from the PC3USB software.
You do have the PC3USB application software installed, don't you? Sounds like you're double clicking a .djm file and it's opening with notepad.

Some of the PC map files on this site have had their extensions changed from .djm to .zip so that they can be uploaded. This site's rules don't allow uploading .djm files so this is done to "trick" the site.

Try renaming the file, and change the file extension from .zip to .djm. Then just to be sure, right click on the file, click on OPEN WITH and select "Power Commander 3 USB Control Center".

Mikie,
I tried that too. I can successfully download the files to my computer, I see the .djm file. but my power commander control center indicates error in file and cannot open.

I wonder if it is becasue I DONT have the PC III USB. I have the older PC IIIR. It seems to have the same latest PC Control Center software 2.7.8.22.

You're trying to open the new file format with the old software.

The PCIII USB Control Center Software is backwardly compatible and can import (open) PCIIIR (.map) files but can only save them as .djm.

The PCIIIR software can only open and save .map files only.

You could install both versions of Control Center (USB and R, in different directories) on your computer. If you wanted to just view a .djm file use the PCIII USB Control Center. If you wanted to copy a .djm map file for use on PCIIIR, copy and paste values from the new version to the old.
