Good news, killerbob! Would it be possible to disable the valve at a half open situation? To control loudness.

Yes, with a wire. But don't do that. 80% of the flow will go through the right muffler by design (with the valve open). Under full throttle and higher rpms a partially closed valved will restrict the flow significantly and force the gas through the left muffler with measurable power loss.
The ECM controls the valve from 50-75kph under load, which is not critical in terms of flow restriction.

I get it, Viennahog. Will not try that. Best thing would be: both elbows equipped with a valve. Valves independent from sensors but still controlable.

Screamin eagle super tuner changes.
I have a 2007 Road Glide. I called Zannotti's about a new SERT and was told that I might want to wait. The man said that they had received notice from Harley that changes were coming soon. I am new to EFI and would really like to get my bike tuned with the SERT. I am planning on Ness Big sucker, Supertrapp supermeg, 30 tooth sprocket and new belt to start with. Any insight on whether to purchase now or wait? Thanks.

The company that made the older SERT is coming out with (what they claim) a better system. I would wait to buy one of these. They should be out this month or next.
They are reputed to be easier to use and have more functions. Since it was designed for Harley Twin Cam, it should work very well and not have as many of the restrictions from the EPA that a HD product would have to have.

Thanks. Will it be sold by dealerships or as aftermarket?

What's wrong with a Power Commander??
Race Tuners and Super Tuners .....
I'm just curious, I was talked into a Power Commander by my Stealer as he was less than confident of the "Performance" of the MoCo's SERT's.
I have a direct USB interface with the DynoJet and my laptop and it came with about 300 MAPs.
Did I get Rooked????
Seems to me the Power Commander has all of the features you gents are looking for. Are you just trying to stick to MoCo products?
Am I misguided?

Typically the best tuning device for EFI is the one your tuner feels most confident with. I believe the SERT is more feature laden, but that comes with added complexity.

I just traded in my 04 FXDXI for an 08 Night Train. I bought the SE Super Race Tuner but didn't get the data cables because I plan on using the cables from my earlier SERT and I have some USB interface cables already. I know the cable that plugs into the
ECM connector is a 4-pin connector but when I examined the connector on the Night Train it only has 3 wires connected and the 4th pin was blocked off. Is this normal on the newer bikes?

Killerbob,
Thanks for verifying the pins on the connector. I went ahead and reflashed the ECM on my 08 Night Train. After sucessfully loading 176AE105-001 (I tweaked the AFR, VE Front, VE Rear tables), I installed black ceramic coated Thunderheaders and the SE A/C Kit. Haven't fired it up yet (I finished around 9 pm...didn't want to piss off the neighbors) I had this same set up on my 04 FXDX so I know what it's going to sound like.
