I did the exact same thing on a 08 Road Glide except I went with the Big Radius. I ran into a problem and the dealer I use said if the after market product caused the problem then the warranty wouldn't cover the repair. Of course they first said the Fuelpak was the problem, and I had to argue with them to road test without the Fuelpak (they just used the diagnostic tools) and it turned out to be the ECM. They replaced the ECM and I was back in business.

He said he would call the company tuesday and get back to me.

Jeffy,
Thanks again, I'd really like to hear what the company tells your friend. The local dealer Adamec, called me back late yesterday and said they have never heard of the issue. But Rossmeyer did I just dont' get it. I know some say they get used to it but with mine there have been several times I hit the throttle (yes I like to hit hard at times.. )and it feels like I'm starting it second or third gear because of the lag.
Thanks again.

If I were to take a guess at it, I would say they (The MOCO) have this for Police bikes, and are using it as a test fleet before releasing it to the customer base.

Hi.
Ok, if there are no leaks, then i would look to see if you have a small inatke leak, assuming that is ok, then have a local dyno tuner do a basic run and have the results looked over at Vance and Hines.
Just e-mail it to them, and they can tell you if there are any adjustments needed.
There real good about doing this for us for free.

Hi. I just installed Reinharts true duals to my 2008 FLHTCU and noticed sputtering, popping, stalling, backfiring and lagging power. I ordered and installed the appropiate V&H fuel pack thnking this would solved the problem. Unfortunatly, It has got worse and I have little or no power on the highway. I checked for intake leaks and made sure the pipes were secured properly to the intale flanges. Any suggestion??

Hi.
What type of air filter did you install?

Do the first 3 or 4 settings inrichen and lean for zero throttle roll off I have been adjusting these settings and it seems to help clear up the decell gurgle and popping.

You probably won't get an answer to your question here. This info is held tightly at V & H, as they don't want to see you mess with it, and accidentially lean out your engine until you have damage. They will talk to you if you call and might give you some info on what to change to help.

I couldn't say yes or no, they won't tell me either.
All I can say is, Vance and Hines is very good at help there customers adjust it, BUT they want to be the ones to control the adjustments.
And, yes, they do this for FREE......what more could you ask for?

Which way to go
I pick up a 2008 Softail Deluxe and after the first ride know I am going to change pipes. Reading several forums on EFI tuning and expence to tuning I am leaning towards the FuelPac. Reading your comments it would appear V&H give a lot of suport to their product. I had thought about SE race tunner but I do not have acces to a Dyno
I am going to go with V&H duals, SE A/C and thats about all in mods I plan to do. Has any one been runing the duals with fuelpac on a Deluxe?

I have found V&H to be a very supportive and fairly fast to respond company.
If all you plain to do is the pay the tax, stage one, the fuelpak is a far better way to go.

Jeffytune:
My ride is an '08 Ultra Classic. It was HOT right out of the box. I kinda liked the Nightrider.com Wide Band O2 Sensor upgrade. I did that and my fuel mpg went from 39-40 to about 38. This was no big deal, however the bike didn't sound harley enough. I put on Rush slip-ons, 2" baffle. I immediately popped on decel. My right leg still burns on a hot day.
I ordered V&H true duals, K&N air filter and a V&H Fuelpak. I don't have them yet, my ebay salesman is a bit sluggish.
Do you think that I can leave the Nightrider fix on? Nightrider.com says it is compatible. If I can leave it on, why should I......Thanks in advance for your opinion.

Popping on deceleration, throttle lag, Fuelpak, 2008
2008 Ultra, stock ECM, SE air filter, V&H Oval slip-ons, 61009 FuelPak, FP-1717 map.
Problem one was the lag in the throttle when starting off. V&H rep suggested changing mode 1 to 7 and mode 5 to 25 .... this has not eliminated the problem but helped a lot.
Problem two is popping on deceleration. V&H rep suggested changing mode 23 to 15 ... this helped but the amount of popping is still excessive. On another call to V&H they suggested that they could not adjust mode 23 any further down as it would result in engine stall on longer hill decelerations. The suggested that open exhaust systems tend to pop ... I suggested that this was not the case on my 95" build on my previous Ultra with a similar setup. Bottom line was there was nothing further they could adjust and to live with it.
Any suggestions on the decel popping issue?
Thanks,
RB
