Thundermax Question

It seems that rumors are the only dependable information regarding the Tmax w/AutoTune for the TBW 08 and newer FL models. About once a month I call Zippers, seeing if they are changing their story or not. But they keep saying it is just about ready for release but no firm date. Kind of like financial relief from the goverment.
In the past i have heard from a few people via the forum that have seen test bikes running. Anything new?
I find it really interesting that a company can continue to sink development money into a product whose sale numbers are going to be drastically cut due to the economy.
The last rumor was the wireless connectivity was the big hold-up, personnally wireless connectivity is the last thing I want anyone to have with my bike.

Here is what they sent me this week:

Anthony, The Thundemax module that will fit your motorcycle is presently not available for sale. We have completed our development and testing stages and currently are creating maps for the various motor groups (i.e. 96, 103, 107, 113,110 etc.).

Once we have sufficient maps for each motor size we will able to release the item. My engineers have informed me that they expect to have the process complete within the next 45 days, at which time we will start releasing the product.

I have taken the liberty to process an allocation ticket for you for one of these new modules. This action in no way contracts you to purchase the item but is a reminder to our sales staff that you are interested and they will contact you when the item is available. When you receive the call you can decide at that time if you want to purchase or not. If you do not wish to purchase at that time we simply go to the next customer on the list. If you do wish to proceed with the purchase, the sales staff will ask the current motor and exhaust combination on the motorcycle so they can load a base map for you. There will be no charge for the loading of the base map.

I want one!

TRazzo,

Thank you for your reply, I too want one, and have been on the list since Mar '08. Now I just hope I can swing it when they call. Of course, it not going to matter to terrible much since I go in for back surgery on Thursday. But if I can swing it, I will and it will be my Christmas present to self in hopes of some good riding next year.
