Heat Reduction

Gents,

I have an 09 RG and have installed Monster Ovals. I'm looking to add a tuner and Air Filter. I am wondering if anyone has actually measured any heat reduction after adding fuel? I hear reports of it running cooler, but I didn't notice it when I added a ness tuner to my 06.

Does anyone have any real data that show heat reduction?

Jeff; I had a 09 FLHX, put V&H ovals, SE air flow, stage 1 download,(just for warranty) and Fuelpak.. I could tell the differance, no doubt . Real data I don't have. Sometimes real data isn't ness.. Good Luck

vindex1963; Checked out thread you started, very true on how the Fuelpak reduced motor temp... I'm waiting on a map from V&H. When I traded the FLHX for the Limited I took the fuelPak with me. I could feel a differance in temp, never measured the degrees just felt cooler..

vindex1963; Question, I believe I read somewhere that people dyno the fuelpak ??? I guess i thought only V&H could only make a map for your application, with their product. I thought that to be good, I guess. As I don't want to put my bike on a dyno as I've whatched and it seems harsh on the Bike...

I'm really not an expert but from what I've read here V&H are the only ones that know what the modes do so there is no way to dyno tune the bike. The canned maps seem to work very well and people on here that have had a dyno run show the air/fuel ratio to be right where it needs to be.

Post your questions here for advice from peole that have a better understanding
of the Fuel Pak. That being "Jeffytune"

I have an 09 Road Glide also. I went stage I with V&H monster oval's , ness big sucker and a PCV. I haven't actually measured "heat reduction" but I can tell you this, the bike never went into "cooling mode" or whatever they call it when the system shuts down the rear jug after I made the changes. I'm running a straight map from powercommanders web site. The bike runs very noticeably cooler and and that shut down feature really was a pain in the but. HD says it activates and deactivates "seamlessly" but I think it was pretty rough. Just my $.02
