SEST Questions

For those in the know-

1) Does the SEST remain permanently mounted on the bike, or does it only plug in when making changes?

2) For softails.....where is "usual" mounting spot?

Reason I ask - supposed to have one on bike in sig, but can't seem to locate it, nor did the dealer give it back to me when I picked the bike up.

Will assume the ECM is the square box mounted under seat on rear fender?

Okay, you can laugh now.

The SEST is a software program that installs in the PC and a VCI (Vehicle Communications Interface). The VCI is a black box with a red button that connects between the Computer and the bikes ECM and allows maps to be uploaded into the ECM. It does not remain on the bike or connected in any way.

Yes the ECM is mounted under the seat.
