Power Commander install

I have a 06 Deuce with EFI and Vance and Hines Big Radius pipes. I have 22,000 miles on my bike and I am going to have the Harley dealership I bought the bike from install the Power Commander. Is it necessary to have my bike run on the dyno? If so, what will be the benefits of the dyno run? The reason i am having the PC installed is because I have been reading articles that state if your bike is running too lean or too rich you can damage and shorten the life of your engine. The only thing I can notice with my bike is on deceleration I get a exaust pop once in a while. Otherwise my bike runs great. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

claydbal will become famous soon enough
let me suggest buying the deeper ecm tray from dynojet, it sure makes install nicer on softails.

to answer your question, yes, you need dyno time, but not just for fuel. timing needs to be corrected also.

Also remember that a dealer cannot technically tune it beyond epa regulations. May be better off having and indy do it and actually tune the bike for optimum a/f ratio rather than a dealer setting it at 14.6 to 1.
