no start with thundermax

Rode my bike in the rain this past week off and on for 450 miles, about 5 miles from home and slowing down for off ramp bike was sputtering in the low rpm's.Washed it the following day and tried to start but it would just turn over and not fire. The bike has spark and fuel pump seems to be working.Any ideas what could be wrong???thunermax??

Thanks

Hi, the TM is hermetically sealed and should be intact. You have four connectors that link the TM to the system: The main connector to the TM ECM, one four pole connector called data link connector and two six pole connectors linking to the O2 sensors of the front and rear exhaust pipes. Disconnect all, dry and clean them with compressed air and apply a good electric contact grease, preferably HD P/N 99861-02, which is expensive but very good.
I suspect your O2 sensor connectors caught some water by the washing as they are fairly exposed to dirt and moisture from the road, these units not only carry the connecting mechanism for the six leads, they also hold the ambient air sensors for the self-calibrating routine the closed loop system needs for proper operation, and if they are contaminated by water things might go haywire. I protected mine with heat shrinking hoses to prevent this effect.
