Laptop placement for tts

Just got through installing all the software, choosing my base map, and am now ready for the v-tune. I was wandering where you guys where putting your laptops to tune with? I've got a softail with no bags, sissy bar, or anything. Just the solo seat and also the original seat. I thought about putting it in a backpack, but I'm sure when I shut the laptop to put in the backpack, the v tune program would stop too? Any tips appreciated.

The instructions on keeping the laptop from shutting off while doing VTune recordings are in the VTune manual. The adjustments are in the power settings. You could do it with a backpack, but you need some ventilation to keep the laptop from overheating.

I gave you some bad info. The settings recommendations are in the DataMaster manual under the heading "Recording VTune Data". The instructions are:

Hints for configuring a PC for long-term Data Collection:
VTune data files are typically collected for 10 up to 60 minutes at a time. Many PCs and most laptops are configured to suspend operation after only a few minutes of inactivity. This will result in data collection being prematurely terminated. The following recommendations will aid in solving this issue.

To access the power options either right click on the desktop and select properties followed by Screen Saver or access Power Options under Windows Control Panel. The exact location and names may change somewhat with different versions of windows, but the following guidelines remain valid.

Power Options - Power Schemes Tab: Under Display Properties, check the Power Options or Power Schemes settings.

Turn Off Monitor - Any setting here is OK

Turn Off Hard Disks - Set to Never

System Standby - Set to Never

Power Options - Hibernate Tab: Enable hibernation is NOT checked

Under the Advanced tab, Power Buttons section, make sure that When I close the lid of my portable computer setting is set to "Do nothing".
