sert- "no aldl" - after the bike starts

I hook up the sert, ignition and run switch on: "test com" and "get ecm" work fine the bikes vin comes up. When i start the bike get "no aldl check connections".

I searched here and elsewhere but only guys getting this message when the try to test com or get ecm.

Anybody have any thoughts?

The bike is an 06 Road Glide,I bought it used and it came with the sert and i did check the vin that came up with the one on my bike they match. I am going from 9 pin serial to usb. I assume cables are good because i can get the ecm info.

What operating system, XP or Vista? XP is preferred, Vista is not fully compatible. What USB adapter? Some don't work, they seem to work some but have issues with baud rates supported. Belkin F5U109 is one that has a great success rate. I personally prefer a REAL serial port.

Also, make sure you have the proper USB drivers installed for your device.

I have the Belkin F5 and I also use the serial to usb sold by Daytona Sensors for the TwinScan. Both adapters seem to work fine with the SERT and XP.
