If you are using a SERT or a SEST you can not retrieve a map from the ECM. If you are using a TTS, you can save the current map but can not view or edit it, only reload it.

You're trying to do the impossible. The best you can do is note the number of the base map installed on the bike. This won't let you view or save the current map. It only tells what base map was used as a starting point.

If any changes were made to the original map, such as would be done during a Dyno tune, you won't be able to see or save those.

If you had your map modified by a tuner, you'd have to get the modified map from him/her. Personally, I wouldn't have my bike tuned without a guarantee of getting the new map on disk, also. But that's a different thread.

If no changes have been made to your map, then the number of the map listed is all you need. The map will be listed in the base maps file that comes with the SERT. Make a note of it, and then you can always go back to install it later.

Check Springer's old "SERT, What is it?" thread for good info. Should be a sticky somewhere.

Yes SERT

Well isn't that a Bummer and kinda a kick in the shorts !!!! I beleive this was a custom map written for this build. I am just trying to make this bike run better so I am coming in at the tail end of a mess !!!!

So I think my best bet might be to go to the guy who wrote the map and see about a hard copy ??

How do I get the number of the base map ?

When you do a "get ecm info" it should display a part number or a map number that looks something like this ... 127HC001...
