Canned maps

I'm pretty sure the more I read, the more confused I get about which way I want to lean towards. At the moment I have Rush slip-ons on my 09 fxdc and everything else is stock. Bought a se hvy breather but haven't installed it until I spring towards a tuner, which at this time is going to be the SEST from the dealer ($ left over from a gift card.) Anyways, my question is are the canned maps that come with these tuners close enough to where the bike needs to be or is there still alot of tinkering and tuning involved and time spent on a dyno. Being IT i wont have any troubles navigating my way through a computer.

Any thoughts to help clear this fog of confusion in my head is greatly appreciated!

The canned map...assuming the stage one...will still be lean in the cruise and rich at higher throttle positions...much like the stock mapping. Get the SEST, use the data mode for recording, have some fun till you feel you need a proper tune......and ask questions.

Welcome to the forum.
