well you aint gonna believe this........
I got the stack back.
hooked it up. and then turned on the hot rod computer that a co worked build. no video black screen WTF. So I call my buddy and co worker thats a IT genius. he's on his way to work on someone else's computer. his advice after walking me through the normal stuff is bad video card...try unplugging it and plugging it back in.
so now I call the guy who built it . he works 2nds so cant come and work on it. so he walks me through the unplug replug deal.
and what do ya know it works!
now back to seeing if the CPU will communicate with the PC.
It connects or at least it dosent say not connected anymore.
but I get a flashing point error when I try to go to the make run screen.
call DJ and spent 45-60 min on the phone with them. great people very helpful! but still not working so he leaves me defragmenting the PC. and if that dont work I will uninstall and install a older version of win pep 7 (that I have on disk) the newest version was off there website.
OK now the defragmenting dosent do it . so i install the 7 version that I have on disk. WORKS CONNECTS!!!!!!....BUT
Now every time I make a run or save a run (1 mile hr foot runs LOL) It will save it but when I go to make another run I get a flashing point error and it wont connect again. same if I close the program and reopen it.
now if i uninstall and reinstall the program it will connect and record 1 run
I dont have the brake hooked up and it reads 100% when I do A run so I suspect that maybe this has something to do with it!
tired of messing with it for the night so giving up.
YOU ASKED TO KEEP YA POSTED SO THERE IT IS!
I WOULDNT EXPECT NO LESS AT THIS POINT

Man that sounds like it sucks!
Maybe a call to bvbob might help?

You plan on any classes for tuning training?

I found a perfect dyno myself, but just decided "bad timing" as i have my first kid coming in 2 months and dont want any more unknowns and expenses in my life right now...lol

Have fun with it Bob and I talk back and forth on " hey you ever have this happen"?? some of the tunes you will do will be a cake walk and then what you think is simple will have you wondering why you want to work on harleys!! Bob like the DTT deal i do not but in the end if the tune is right then you are good to go. Tons of stuff to learn on what is not in any help section. Good luck to you, I had a few issues when I got mine as well. But my it guy came to the shop and I walked off to do something else. Now in the process of adding another flat screen , I may even go up to three screens. Tons of things up at once to keep running.

Bob has gave me countless hours of his time on the Twin scan and now this dyno.
stand up guy for sure!
I will get it I am soooo happy that it is communicating (cpu and pc) that this issues dosent bother me to much yet LOL!
I think maybe the brake not being hooked up is part of the problem. I am just waiting to get it in the pit to install the brake. I dont want to install it then have to disassemble again to move it.

claydbal will become famous soon enough
stroker, you need the cd that is written four YOUR dyno. its $350, but is written to your dyno specs and contains valuable calibration info.

when i bought a new stack, i also had to buy a new disc. i have media all the way back to pep----in dos! and a computer that is 486 platform! lol. of course nowadays its xp with a gig of ram and athlon processor.

i built two computers, one monitors dyno only, the other contains tuner softwares , wares for the widebands, and helpful files. plus redundant storage.

make sure you have plenty ram, and you may want to install a new bios battery.

Jim,
You plan on going up to his place, or is he headed down your way? I was considering a ride up there. He wanted to check out my 117", and my 117" wanted to check out his dyno. Either way, I wouldn't mind helping you guys wrench.

I have the disk for my drum it is 7.21 or something like that and the newest is 7.5 something.
the disk will work and let me make a run but if I close the program it dosent reconnect when I open it back up. I have to uninstall and re install the software off the disk again. DJ told me that they would send me a copy of the latest update if I got it to connect and work with the disk. didnt mention anything about buying it ....but ya never know.
3 gig of memory, and lighting fast processor not sure what it is???

Yeah, that would definitely put a smile on my face. I was thinking about taking a ride up there, but it would be a long haul by myself.
