Man there are some awesome bikes out there!

Wolfe, when you did the 2" tank lift did you notice any difference in your center of gravity or handling? I think my '02 FXDL needs a tank lift (among many other things to keep up with you guys!)

Old_Mil, How do you like the fork brace?

Here goes:
'02 FXDL

Hance & Hines Bigshot Staggered pipes
BossBags #31 detachable saddlebags
Stage 1 carb upgrade
Metzler ME880 tires
Kuryakyn Magnum mirrors
Buffalo Bars t-bar handlebars
Kuryakyn front turn signal relocation brackets
HD smoked turn signal lenses
HD chrome lower fork legs
Screamin' Eagle heavy duty fork oil
HD chrome coil cover
HD chrome lower belt guard
Chrome pulley cover
HD billet footpegs
HD forward controls kit

Removed headlight eyebrow & mounted a '89 softtail headlight onto lower tree. Traded out the stock innards to put into the '89 housing. Disconnected all the indicator lights except for the oil pressure light, drilled a hole in the tank dash & mounted it there.

Had seat re-covered & riders portion lowered & moved back & passenger area built up w/ more padding & widened. Backrest pad re-covered to match seat.

Moved rear turn signals using lay down license plate & turn signal relocation kit for an FXDX or FXD, can't remember which. Had to drill out threads in turn signal housings & use nuts to attach housings to the turn signal stem. Thead pitch was not the same on the stem as on the turn signal housings.

With the exception of my chrome lower fork legs all non-stock mods & accessories were done by myself. A friend more knowledgeable than I helped me with the fork legs.

I think I'm done for a while now. Don't see the need for any engine work. I've been a little over 120 mph a few times & can't see the need for more speed & can get up & go in quite a hurry also. When I need to re-build someday I'll probably go to a 103" & gear driven cams & such.

Maybe a mid or wide glide front end & some apes someday? Maybe some chrome billet wheels, a 21" front wheel who knows what the future holds!!!???

For now I'm very happy & over spent. (For now)

Will try to get a pic of the bike w/ the BossBags on in the next few days.

Dave

Thanks Tanker, sure must be nice to have your SO riding on her own bike

95 FXDWG...Custom

-EV-27 Andrews Cam
-Kuryakyn Hypercharger
-Vance & Hines ProPipe
-Custom billet forward controls
-Arlen Ness: Drag Bars, grips, headlight, taillight and license plate
-Revtech Performance Brakes
-Polished Aluminum, one of a kind wheels. Changed to a 19" front wheel from stock 21".
-Carlini Torque Arm
-House of Kolor custom paint by "Colormania"
-Kuryakyn mirrors with the LED turn signals in the housing..they are GREAT
-Chrome: Swing arm, rear sprocket, primary inner and outer covers, tranny cover, battery cover and top, coil and electronic box covers, cam cover, fully chromed forks, billet triple tree, all bolts covered with chrome caps..everything that can be chrome..is chrome.
-Runs like a scalded dog when you want it. The V&H ProPipe is the BEST sound and adds approx 18hp.

This is the gift my wife gave me upon my retirement after 30 years in the Corps.

Hey pops,

Can you offer a few more details on that beautifully done ride. I can see 440 progressive shocks on rear. Stock height? Lowered? what front end is that? stock tubes in wide glide trees? Looks to have a bit more rake then stock? raked trees, how much. Man Pops you sure made that FXD Purdy!!!
Thanks for any info you care to offer.
Appreciated.
