to cover or not to cover

i'm getting a arlen ness big sucker stage 2 air cleaner and was unsure if i have to get a cover or can i leave the cover off.

the only cover that will work, since the stock cover is now too small, is a Danish cookie tin. It leaves about 1/2 inch space around the filter. Spray paint it the same color as the bike.

if you want to leave the filter exposed, as recommended by Ness, they have a chrome face cover for the front plate. Don't waste your money on one because the chrome bubbles. I'll sell you mine cheap.

thanks fred for your help. not to doubt you about the cover but, i found on the internet a alren ness 8 inch chrome cover that fits B.S. 2. i have 09 super glide.

Just buy a stock evo cover off of ebay and the mounting screw that comes with it, then you can put any insert on it that will fit a stock evo.

Did you build a big cube engine and you need more air flow? Have you checked out the Arlen Ness Big Sucker 1 with a taller filter? That would give you more choices for covers, there's not that many covers for the bigger diameter Arlen Ness Big Sucker II.

what you are getting is a chrome cover for the face plate. I thought your question concerned covering the filter element itself.
