Different tank on a FXD

I'm sorry if this is a repost, but does anyone know if a Fatboy or Wideglide tank will fit on a Super Glide frame?

I like the FXD, but man that tank looks tiny compared to the other Dynas.

If anyone's done it, where did you get the tank?

Thanks,

I felt the same way I have an 01 FXD. I swapped the tank with a wide glide tank. Years 96-03 will fit. You will need the other components as well: console, speedo, gas gauge etc. Also to make the console work you'll need to do some custom wiring. I post some pics asap. GeorgeJ

Well, according to the specs a SG tank is like 4.6 gallons and the WG is 5.1 gallons. Why go through all that for a 1/2 gallon?

You've got a point, but the SG tank looks, well, small in comparison to the other dynas. I've seen some pictures of FXDs with different tanks and it changes the bike into a different beast.

I'd be interested in seeing what others have done to change the tank and the tank panel up on a Super Glide.

Here's a shot when I put the WG tank on - I still have the stock speedo on in this pic. I ordered a stock console and picked up a WG speedo on flee-bay. GeorgeJ

How about a 2" tank lift on the front of the tank. Gives it a bigger look, costs about $5.00

I've seen that before. It is interesting...and you can get to the entire cam cover to polish it.
