2001 Wide Glide

Hello,

I was cleaning a 2001 Wide Glide. I pulled a hose out from the side of the engine. The hose is coming out of the left side of the carburetors float bowl. Is this a vent hose? Can someone tell me where the other end of the hose goes or connects to something at the side of the engine.

Thanks

It's not connected to anything... it's for in case the float needle gets stuck, overflow doesn't go down into the manifold and in pistons, but instead on the ground.

Usually, it's routed to come out the front I think, down past the oil filter. Or you can route it down by the engine/tranny.

ChopperDude,

Thank you for the information. That's what I thought it was. I have a Dyna 2004 manual and the carburetor doesn't have this hose. The Harley dealers are closed here on Mondays and I needed the info. fast. I didn't want the customer picking up his bike and breaking down on the way home.
