its obvious with a 26 cam you wanted early, quick hitting tq. the true duals killed the area the cams work best in.

common actually, most of the time because customer has already spent a grand on true duals and aint gonna change, but demands early tq, so we use the 26 to try and cover up the loss. then you run out of cam about the time the true duals decide to start working.

be happy doc was involved in the tuning, i bet yours in not quite so lazy getting on the pipe.

You know I'm happy with the build and tune Doc did, But I hate this tall gearing and the almost stalling feeling I get when taking off from a stop in which I heard is a combination of drive by wire and the gearing... what is the fix? take the tranny out and regear? I don't want a quik fix I want to do it right the first time.

I never had this feeling with my 03 flstf, maybe it's just me I don't know.

Thanks TXCHOP, for posting the chart...I need to join also!!!

Thank's guy's.

gearing is a tricky science. trial and error got me where i am happy now. not educated on the parts availability for the new 6 gear bikes, so i can't help. i think the sheet looks pretty good. be sure to hammer on it every chance you get!!

This may not work for your bike. You will have to check part numbers. But, take a look anyway.

BW all you have to do is give Doc a call. Ask about changing the primary ratio. As long as you have him on the line ask about the effects of swapping out the duals to a 2:1 D&D FatCat.

You'll be spinning the back tire by accident for the first month or so

I have a very similar build and dyno sheet. I did mine in late Feb. very cool out. The first 4k miles (including a 3000 miler to OR) the bike ran great above 24/2500 (no tach) but taking off from a stop it seemed a little gutless. When I got back from my trip the first week of July the temps in ColoSprgs rose dramatically into the high ninetys and suddenly my bike would pop on decel unlike it ever had. I stopped by my tuner and caught him on a break, I told him what was up.
He had my map and added fuel to the 0 throttle position and reloaded it.
My sound went from a powerful hoarse (dry throat roar) in the higher rpms to a much more throated sound from 0 throttle. The response it gained in the lowest of rpm was a surprise. It didn't decel pop any more. My mileage didn't change. I don't know if I lost anything in the hp/tq that I got with the original tune, but if I did it wasn't much. I will probably go for a dyno run next summer from the same tuner in July just to see what is up. I am very happy with what I have. My tuner did a great job and I'm not knocking the tune you got, just relating what happened to me.
