Timeslips anyone?
So how many of you folks get your bad-azz scoots out to the track? Let's see some 1/4 miles times with details of your combo.
I'm particularly interested in seeing what kind of times and traps some of you big cube guys are getting.

Dang Colonel, jump on in there and show us all what kinda ET you can hammer with you 124. I have a recollection that you have done a heap of engine builds along they way and you ET and personal comments about the build would be helpful.

No track time yet but that'll come eventually. I've actually never been down the track on a bike (now car, well, that's a different story!) But, I'm looking forward to it. This is part of the reason I started this thread. I'm trying to get an idea of what would kind of times I should expect when and if I get proficient at draggin' this thing.
This 124" is only my second HD build. The first was the 98" which blew the stock crank at 2000 miles.
Check back on my 124" threads (there are two of them) here in the dyno section if you haven't already. I made a few comments on some of the things you mentioned above and I'll be adding more as the miles add up.
I only have 730 miles on the new build. Been too busy to ride much! I'll give a good update on how things are going, more driving impressions, etc... when I get 1000 miles on it. I might put that in the engine section instead since it won't be dyno related.

I've been so out of the drag racing loop that I don't even know if that track is still open or not. It's been known to change ownership a few times over the years. Lemme see if I can find their website....

not really, colonel and i have been trying to hook up for quite awhile.
but we all know that when the second stage light comes on-------yeeeeeehaaaaaa, shift, yeehaaaaa, shift, go to sleep and wait for the other end of the track to finally show up.
montgomery has a nice track. but i hear bad rumors of it being closed. went to it last october, i think, got off the vht good but third gear had me trying to cross center. then it rained. bummer.

MMP was always inconsistent for me back in the Z28 racing days. One night I'd be pulling low 1.30 60 fts and the next time I'd be doing well to hit high 1.4s. It even changed alot by the hour. Never knew which timing lights were going to be working on which side of the track either. Might get an 1/8 trap and a 1/4 time in one lane or an 1/8 time and a 1/4 trap in the other.
Always ahelluvalotta fun though!

I never ran on a track, but would love to try. Now I bet I could get Dennis to run my softtail 124".

I was sleeping at the light and fighting wheelies all day. The track is in Michigan at the All Harley Drags. It's not too well-prepped, but this particular day it was alright. The only bikes I've ever lost to were two 124s. One reeled me in the last 1/4 of the track, the other was a pretty close race and he got me by about a bike and a half, again pulled near the end. I think the bulk motors are a bit harder to launch.
I also think that dyno sheets are no reflection on "long black dyno" performance. I sometimes hear a lot of talking, but I don't see many HDs in the 11s where I've run.

MIR held its 2nd annual Bikefest and I made passes all day. My bagger had a best of 12.79 @102.3
Not to bad for a 95" with no serious headwork (built by Simon's 5 years ago) and a piece of plywood for a fairing!
I even pressed a hidden button to go 12.60, but a electrical problem stopped me from making any more passes on it!

Clay,
Running S&S 585s, RevPerf 1.9 heads, 10.5:1, DTT, ProPipe, CV44, 3.37 gearing, SE spring+VPC, Wood 3.25 filter. Was slightly fat and so dropped main jet one size. We'll see.
