96 engine stage 1 and andrews 26h

I didn't couldn't find any dyno results with the 96 engine and a andrews 26H cam so I thought I would post my results. I had talked with Doc about making some mild changes without going overboard. We ride 2 up 98 percent of the time and really wanted to keep the bike pretty much stock so we don't get any overheat issues but wanted a little extra power for pulling a trailer too.

So Doc suggested an andrews 26H Cam. I had already had a stage 1 kit with Bubs 7 true duals and SE Air cleaner with a Sert Tune, then just added the cam. My work was done at American HD in Ann Arbor Mi and the Mechanic was Noah. This was also per Doc recommendations as I live in Northern Mi and its pretty hard to find some decent mechanics let alone good Dyno tuners. I will try to post my dyno sheet tomorrow or later tonight but my results were 81.80Hp and 92.36 Torque This work was just completed on Fri 1/25/08 My engine had 1,545 miles on it at the time.

Only bad news is since we still have ice and snow all i got to do was hear it run at the dealer. Good news is in about 6-8 weeks I will get to ride it. Might still be cold, but hey who cares LOL

HDMD88 will become famous soon enough
That looks great Widly, got the tq right where you wanted it, down low for your 2 up and trailer. I suggest some redline 20~60 weight in there and your running tenps will be in the 225~235 pulling the trailer and moma on the back.

Good Job and I see he got it done in 66 pulls.....thts great.

Hey Doc - not trying to cause a stir but trying to understand the data on the charts. I was Near Ann Arbor last Thursday (1/24/08) the day of the above dyno tune. If my memory serves me right, it was about 15 degrees outside. I notice that the dyno graphs shows the temp at 75.51, they had to be pulling in some of that cold MI air. Any comment?

BTW - the curves look great!

Not wanting to stir the pot, but.....

Hi.

Ok, I am not throughing crud at you but, but 2007 e-glide's dyno, on the one around here that reads lower them the others is a bit better then yours is.
Mine is stock, just a stage one and a Vance and Hines Pro Pipe BP.

I think the true duels are holding you back.

Dont' worry about throwing Crud LOL Im not one to take things that way. First your pic you tried to post didn't show and I would like to see it if its a dyno chart.

I know that I can get more power runing a 2 into 1 but I just don't care for the look on any harley. I like the true duals. Also Im not looking for that 100hp torque so I just wanted to give it more than stock to help pulling 2 up. Also Noah the mechanic set the AFR at 14.1 to give me the best of both power and mpg. Im sure if he wanted to get into the 13s it would be higher too but im not looking for that.

I wanted to get this dyno out there as there have been a lot of threads asking about cams and the 96 engine. So this gives others something to start with.

Long story short I had a 06 ultra and did the 95 inch with 203 cams. It gave me 70 something hp and 90 somthing torque and I was happy with that. So with this cam its in the same ballpark.

I did the 120 zippers engine in that 06 cause I got bit by wanting all that power. Well I also got nothing but heat problems in heavy traffic, construction zones ect. Had to stay at 23 mph or faster or the light would come on. Try doing that is Chicago!!! I had to shut it off at every light,

Have you gotten a chance to ride the bike for a seat of the pants difference in the total feel to compare with the Stage I?

No I haven't had a chance to ride it with the new cam in it yet. Our weather just broke up north here and I will be getting it out of storage either this weekend or next weekend.

You must have missed the thread where my results were posted.
96" TC, 26h cam, SE a/c k&n, D&D Fat Cat 2-1 w/QB, dyno tune: 87hp/97tq

Edit: I can't believe how well the bike responds now and if you feel the improvement over what you had before it has got to be a good thing.

I did miss that thread!! It don't look like the true duals loses much at all since I got 83 hp and 91 torque. But its good to know the response will be different. I had almost 2000 miles on mine when they put it in.

Mine before with just a stage 1 only had 60 something hp at the rear wheel and I think 80 or there abouts torque so its a good improvement. Plus the dyno curve is pretty smooth compared to the stage 1 dyno the first dealer did.

Doc told me I would be very happy with that cam and also said it will make that engine run cooler too. I have not had any heat issues with it but hey if it runs cooler then every bit helps. Plus his recommendation of American HD in Ann Arbor Mich was great. The rest of what we got up north is not good.

Thanks for the info

Jeffytune- I think if you send that dyno sheet to Vance & Hines, they can give you new settings for your fuelpak to reduce the leanness above 4K. That's what I've been told, anyway.

Sorry but I must have missed something. A 96" not getting 100 lbs of torque?
I'll stick with my 88".

Can you fix the link to your dyno graph? I am getting a photobucket error when I view your post with the attachment.

Thanks
