Never send your parts to Dragonman!!!

Even though he is not a dealer, he does a lot of machine work on engines and trannys. I sent my engine to him after I had a valve punch a hole through my piston. He promised to machine the heads, put in new valves, guides, and seats...when in fact he just re-used the old parts. The valves wouldn't seat and I had no compression on 1 cylinder. Bike would not run, and oil was POURING out the pipes on both cylinders. The valves and seats looked like they had been ground with a dremel, and were not properly lapped. The valve guides were the wrong size, and were installed incorrectly.

He also promised to go throught the entire engine and replace all bearings, re-bore and hone the cylinders, and replace pistons with new hi-perf S&S. The pistons turned out to be Taiwanese junk that had not been properly clearanced, and were rubbing on the rods. The cylinders were honed in a cone shape (\/), and the hone was so rough, that after taking the motor apart after 30 miles, the rings were worn to nothing! After pulling off the lifter blocks, I had SAND come out with them...I pulled the cam cover and the bottom end was full of sand and filth. I popped the cover off the oil pump and pulled the gears out, and there is so much scoring on a brand new HVHP S&S pump, it will need to be replaced after only 30 miles.

After discussing this with Dragonman, he said he would not honor his warranty, since I didn't take the motor back to him as soon as I started having problems, and tried to fix myself. At this time, my only recourse is to try and document my problems, and let the court decide.

If anyone is thinking of taking anything to Dragon Precision Machining in Colorado Springs, CO...please save yourself the heartache and look somewhere else....He advertises one price for a particular service, and charges at least 25% more when you pick up the part. The service is horrible, and you will never get satisfaction. Please take it from someone who is $1500.00 wiser and poorer, look somewhere else.
