I didn't know someone was holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy an HD.

For the past two years, I have taken it upon myself to stop buying items made in China, as I do not whish to fund a communist country. Yes, I don't purchase the amount of things I use to, but since our government won't do anything about it due to International trade agreements, I will do my part. May be a small part, but it is something. I mentioned to the dealership I frequent that all their shirts and other merchandise was from China and I would not purchase it since it was not something I needed, but only wanted. Over the past months, I have noticed shirts are now being purchased from Mexico and other non communist countries. Do your part and just don't buy stuff made in countries you can not support.

It's all relative. The Yamaha V-Max and the Kawasaki 1700 Nomad with ABS are both about $18,000.00 which is right in the price arena with Harleys. A Goldwing or BMW tourer will run you even more.

Been doing exactly that for years. Will not buy China stuff unless there's no alternative. Refuse to pay Made in USA prices for off shore stuff.

The Harley shirts I buy are made here, the Harley jacket I have is made in USA (Big tag inside says so).
Yes I too read tags, and when it is made outside of this country, I pick NON Communist country's.
Even at my work, I have stopped buy as many parts as I can from China, but it is getting harder and harder to avoid it.

Yea, my new American HD leather jacket I paid $400 for says made in CHina. Most of the chrome stuff we buy is made in China or Japan. Cracks me up that the flag waving buy American HD riders still slam other bikes and countrys of manufacture. I pass a Toyota plant every day, Camery's being built by Americans, with American parts involved, but most think buying a Chevy would support America...better check the parts on them??? I buy Harley because I like the product, I buy the chrome because riding down our free highway system allows me to show individual style. Does it really matter who stitched the leather together?

There is a big difference between American built and American made.
