Hi all-'Am new to HD. My wife and I just got new Sportsters in the last 4-6 weeks and we want to find a local Dealer or shop with a GOOD reputation to do our 1,000 service and beyone. We live on the southeast side of Dayton and are closest to Buckminn's/Xenia. I tried to buy my 'bike there but they seemed disintersted in me or maybe thought we couldn't afford it. They lost out on two sales. We also visited Mid-Ohio in Spfld but they said they couldn't get what we wanted. We had a good sales experience at Tri-County in Fairfield and a GREAT sales experience @ Lima HD. These are both kinda far to drive to just for a service/regualr maintenance & we would rather patronize a local dealer/shop if they can provide a high level of service at a competitive price. Got any recommendations? I know nothing about F & S ( Dayton) or the Dealer in Piqua. Have only heard of them and wasn't aware of them when we were buying. I read good reports of Aces & Eights in Mason from years ago but now read that they are in transition, have little inventory , including parts and it sounds like they are either going out of business or are soon to be taken over/purchased by a new Dealer Owner/Operator. Any recommendations of a good place to take our bikes would be greatly appreciated. We are also open to a good non-franchised shop that is knowledgeable, competitive. service oriented and takes every interest in the bike and it's owner. We have heard so many "horror" stories about taking bikes in to be worked on and then finding them scratched/marred by lazy techs who don't take the time to mask & cover components or keep the bikes (or themeselves & their work areas) clean. We also keep hearing of service mgrs/advisors that try to cover up, place false blame saying the bike was brought in that way etc.. I know that certainly not all dealers are like this and most are good at what they do and competitive. I just want to start out on the right foot
and find a good home to establish a relationship with. Any suggestions ?? Thanks for the help !!
