Fuel Moto Kit Report

I bought the kit from Fuel Moto which includes the Jackpot Mufflers, their own air cleaner, and a pre-mapped PC-V.

I thought I'd give my impressions both good and bad (mostly good) for the good of others here.

BTW, my bike is an 09 Ultra. Engine is stock except for this stuff.

Engine sound is good, nice and deep. Loud when on it hard, not too loud when cruising. I can still hear my radio, but I probably have to turn it up one level higher than before.

They show a graph with a gain of about 14 lb-ft of torque pretty much across the rev range. I have to say that it feels like that is true. Bike is noticably stronger at all rpms. I had the wife on the back the other day and engine felt good at 55 in 6th gear, it seemed to be kind of unhappy much below 65 in 6th before.

"Jetting" seems spot on to me. Engine runs very well in every situation I've seen so far.

Engine seems to be quite a bit cooler, but I do not have an oil temp guage to give you actual numbers. Seems much better. Went out for several hours last weekend and it was pretty hot out, hardly noticed heat off the engine. That said, we were not sitting in traffic in the city...

Chrome seems good on the mufflers. Too soon to tell how they will hold up in the long term.
I don't think I like the look on the end, they look like there are no baffles in them. The baffles are there, but they are a ways up inside the pipes.

There is no way that I can figure out how to tell the right from the left muffler once you take them out of the bags. (The bags are marked) This is bad because it would be easy to get them mixed up and I was told that the baffles are different. They should really have some way to tell, even an R and L stamped into the mounting bracket or something. Also, the mufflers leave a little gap with the stock heat shields. It's not too bad, you really would have to be looking for it to tell. But I know it's there...

The aircleaner seems good. I swear, the air filter itself has to be an un-marked K&N. It even comes with a K&N care kit with oil and cleaner.
I bought the chrome one, and I'm glad I did since you can see the mounting tabs that go over the breather bolts.
I thought the directions were ok, but they would have been much better with a few pictures or diagrams.

I think my mileage might have suffered a bit. I haven't checked it out yet, but I had my fuel light come on at about 175 or 180 today. I may not have gotten it as full as normal last time though...

Overall, I'm very happy with the kit so far. My bike runs great and sounds great. The price was good, $719 total with free shipping. Time will tell on how well the chrome holds up on the mufflers, but so far they are quite nice.
I'd buy it again if I had it to do over.

I think it is the best Stage 1 package on the market, especially if price (~$700) is factored into the equation.

I think they'll do well against discoloration. They have a heat-shield welded inside the muffler to keep heat away from the front bell where mufflers discolor most often. A new Jackpot is coming out in a few weeks and it will be guaranteed to perform better than any other slip-on for stock head pipes and also guaranteed never to discolor. Don't worry about buying now, as the new ones will not perform any better than the old.

My Jackpots had a sticker attached at the front flange
revealing the proper side. You can also look into the muffler and tell, as the left side has a 3/4" reversion cone welded to the front section of the baffle. Just shine a flashlight in the muffler and you'll see it.

Since you've been testing your new-found power I'm not surprised. However, FM tunes on the rich side for cooling and throttle-response, so you should see a drop in mileage, maybe as much as 10% over stock. The PCV can be tweaked easily for mileage by leaning the cruise range, which I won't elaborate on here since I tend to get long-winded about these things. FM has a "mileage map" that he will install when requested, and I recommend it. For me it doesn't go far enough and my bike is considerably leaner than even the mileage map in the cruise range. Its mileage is equal or close to stock. On a recent trip I was right with an '08 RK, stock except for pipes, in mileage--actually beating him when speeds exceeded 65mph. I also have SE255 cams and the FM Power Package (with Auto-Tune), so I'm very happy with the result.

I installed the same setup about a month ago. I am very pleased with mine and my results are exactly the same as your's.
