Harmon Kardon Radio Repair

(The following post's were orignally in another thread)

I just had my Harmon Kardon take a dump on me. I have a Hawgwired amp and I called Hawgwired and Justin turned me on to Ironcrossaudio.com. They do Harmon Kardon repairs. I called them and Tony told me he would put the HK unit up against any head unit out there. Because it is built to take the punishment. You may do okay with a marine certified unit. All the rest were made for cars and won't take the enviroment. What they do is fix everything in that unit that needs it and upgrades as well for a flat fee of $250.00. Yes I know some of you would think I am nuts. But I sent it to them yesterday, they got it today and it was going back out the door in the afternoon and I will have it back on Monday.

One reason I am getting it back so quickly is because they are in Jersey and I am on Long Island. It may take you longer depending on where you are located. If you overnight it Marie told me they try to make it a priority. I figured buy an aftermarket unit and a harness to fit my amp, mounting bracket, bezel and I was looking at around $500.00 or a new unit through Harley costing me $1000.00. So I figured I was getting off easy. I'll let you know how it goes.
Later,
Mike

Harmon Kardon radio repair

Just got my Harmon Kardon radio back from Iron Cross Audio. Put it in and it sounds better than ever to me. Spoke with Tony and he told me it was brought into 2010 specs. He replaced the audio amplifier, aux plug and reinforced it. An anti-vibration mod was done.

They will even update your radio software if it needs it. The $250 flat fee saved me alot of money vs going out and buying a new head unit that might not survive and have to get a new wiring harness, bezel and radio mount to fit in my fairing. The turn around was great and I would definetly use them again. but hope I don't have to. www.ironcrossaudio.com

HK answers

Good to know.

That thought came to me awhile ago. What would I do if the HK unit died.

Thanks for the post and your final info
