Arnott air Shocks
Hi Folks,
Just to let you know about my experience with Arnott inc.
I purchased a set of Softail air shocks from Arnott in July 2008 whilst on holiday in Florida. When I arrived back in the UK I promptly fitted the hardware to my wife’s bike.
The difference they made to her riding experience was phenomenal not only is the bike a lot more comfortable but as she can reduce the seat height at the touch of a button it gives her much more confidence where going slow or stopping and having to move the bike around. While out riding this weekend the shocks developed a problem so I called Corey at Arnott and explained the issue I was having, he immediately posted me out a replacement set of shocks under warranty. I have to say the service I have had from Arnott Inc is second to none and would highly recommend them to any of you if you are contemplating upgrading your bike suspension.
Arnott Inc A+A+A+A+
Regards
George

I do find them way better than the stock shocks but really think they need a pressure gauge so that I could better gauge how they react under different settings - there is no way to tell from one day to the next what pressure you have, so if you find a setting you like, how do you duplicate that?
I do know that they answer email queries quickly and without fail, they check everything and are very helpful with quotes, shipping, so George is absolutely correct on that point. There is a warranty, so I believe if George was impressed by receiving a new set of shocks, that would be enough for him to post on here!
Here are a couple of pictures for ya only 1 worked, have to try again later

Excellent Shocks
I have a set I installed myself on my 99 Roadking. They totally outperform the stock shocks. They have excellent customer support and they answered all emails I sent very quickly. My good friend bought a set for his Fat Bob and his absolutely loves them...Just saying....And No I don't work for them.

glad to hear you got your replacement shocks and can get back on the road, but again you can have an email address from anywhere in the world doesn't mean you are actually there, most of the time first posts are in the introduce yourself section, when someone just jumps in and starts talking about how great something is, it sounds a little fishy to me, but that's just me
Best Regards,
Train

Ride Quality for a Bad Back
I have to agree with "Train", I'm a cynic, “prove me wrong is my motto!”
I would really like to know what the ride characteristics are on a softail with these air shocks on it, seeing that I own a Deuce!
My problem is that I have a herniated disk, and whit wearing a back brace, I can comfortable ride, it is the damn holes and heat buckles in the road that you cannot avoid that jar my back and cause pain... I replaced the stock shocks with a set of Progressive suspension chrome softail rear shocks, (what a waist can eve see them) and a set of thier replacement front springs and someone else’s Gold emulators and the combination did make an improvement in the ride quality as far as handling. But, the rears still shock your back on heat buckles and holes.
I realize Air can react quicker than hydraulic. But I do not want a bouncy ride, but at the same time I want it to absorb the road shocks and not bottom causing the shock transfer to the back.
So if your watching the thread Arnott’s, please tell me sumptin gooooood! And yes you can be from Australia if you want!
I really don’t want to spend a Grand to have a washboard ride… and why-o-why no pressure gauge? Maybe because the gauge will bounce all the time with the ride bouncing causing the change in the pressure?

Well I didn't want to reply because I would probably get flamed. But I don't have Arnott suspension and I don't work for them,,,,But I do know Corey personally as I used to work with him at a different place. His priority is keeping customers happy, that's the way it always was. Jody

Well I can relate to the back issue, "I'll see your herniated disk and raise you TWO more, check or call"
I looked at the Legends (big bucks), and looked at the Progressives and just wasn't familiar with that name (my problem not theirs).
Called ARNOTT because I know that name for years in regards to truck shocks, which I have never heard of a problem with and now they were offering shocks for my HD.
I asked them to explain the differences and the prices and almost bought a pair with compressor for just under $1K.
Then at the bottom of the web site was the pair listed for $678. I asked him and he said that they were last years model and QAI brand shocks (which I am also familiar with) and asked if these were adjustable and the min and max air pressure.
They are very adjustable by a knob on the lower side of each and of course, the air pressure.
I ordered them, installed them, and added some additional 'conveniences'. I went to my local 'trailer' supply house and bought a 'schrader valve', more air hose, 2 more 'tee' fittings and installed this system with a 90 lb air gage that I got at AUTOZONE. And I mounted the compressor where I wanted it.
(somewhere on this site I listed almost the entire installation procedure).
The 'schrader' enables me to fill-release-adjust the air pressure should the compressor ever fail, and all I need is another air source.
The gage is just barely below the left side rear speaker so I can see it when I am stopped. I have left the shock adjustment at the 'softest ride' position and with me (328 lbs) and my honey, who is not quite as heavy, I run between 50 & 70 lbs pressure.
Guess what, the back is happy!
I believe that my choice works for me and maybe others. Your mileage may vary!
I am very happy that I purchased from Arnott and their warranty and advice are great!
I also did the entire install myself. Took me about 1 week during the cold season but it will NEVER leak air.
