Central Illinois H-D Dealers - Give me the straight poop!

Interested in getting feedback from the following dealers - good, bad, ugly - sales, service, etc.:

Walters Brothers - Peoria
Nees Harley Davidson - Galesburg
Chuck's - Bloominton/Normal
Coziahr - Decatur

I've had some dealings with all of them.

I'd have to say that of all of them, Chuck's is probably the worst in regard to sales and service. They're driving that dealership into the ground. I used to buy parts from them now and then, but only in an emergency. They can't keep a good mechanic to save their lives.

the parts guy that was a azz went to Andres in campaign.
the older gray bear gray headed tech is very good dont remember his name.
a buddy of mine was going to trade his wife heritage in there and asked me to go with him for mech support. good thing ! they tried to play off primary chain slap ...as quote...its going to take 2500 dollars to fix this bike up to sell!
A guy I work with wont go any where else loves them!
another guy I work with hates them and called the MOCO REP to come down to get his bike fixed. Well it worked! now they pick his bike up for service and bring it back no charge for services or trailering the bike back and forth. this has been going on since 04 also all cleaned up and shinny when it returns!
I go there occasionally to look around and the ride. the prices are a little higher on accessories and clothes. But they usually have some pretty good deals on sale or closeout stuff. I bought a leather jacket there for my wife on the sale rack for 90.00 marked down from 299.00
about 50/50 on the feedback I hear on buying a bike from them.
I personally have never bought a bike from them so dont know anything except the above story of the deal my buddy was trying to do with his wife's bike.
They are very friendly... now that the azz from parts has left!
O-yea I called around on pipes SERT and a dyno tune for another buddy and they were the cheapest and had a good tuner at that time. About 4-5 mounts later I noticed his bike was always smelling rich. They re-tuned it for no charge! Just my experiences.

Will drive to Peoria even though chucks is less than 5 miles away.. i think that says it all...

Let me also say that as much as we might think these dealerships are our friends; they are still a business trying to make a buck. They are not looking out for your best interest. There are lots of dealerships around for now; spend your money at the one you feel most comfortable at.

I hear ya on Chucks. Buy my parts online most of the time, but if I need something in a hurry, I always go to Walters Bros. mainly because I can't stand the flunkies at Chucks.

Don't get me wrong, Walters ain't nothin' to brag about either. But as long as you go in there knowing what you need, you can usually get it.

As far as service goes, you might as well roll the dice. Although I've never needed any warranty work or serious service work, I'm not sure who I'd go to. Probably Walters Bros. I suppose, definitely not Chucks - Winnie is pissing that dealership into the crapper. Must be paying their techs. peanuts because she can't keep a good one for more than 6 months. She's more interested in selling T-shirts.
