Angry Fiberglass Tour Pak off ebay

I bought a fiberglass Tour pak from a guy in Seneca Pa. that sells on ebay, seller 2657fairlane500 that makes and sells replacement tour paks. I bought a chopped black tour pak to put on my new road glide. I called and told him (no names) what I wanted we settled on a price for black chopped tour pak with hardware installed. He said he had one in stock and would send asap. It arrived and I opened It up.It was packed very well and had no damage. I put it on my wash lift ,washed it and was getting ready to install. I then noticed the lid had little pits along the contour and all around the front right corner. I called and he said to wipe it down with thinner, so I did with no improvement. Then he said "you could paint it" just what I want to do. So I called him back and he said send it back. so I did at $23.00 shipping cost. Well after a weak he calls me up to tell me that he can't see anything wrong with it but his eye sight is not so good and he would send a new one. I opened the new one this morning. Its not as bad but still had bad spots and weather seal was not installed. I also got no refund for return shipping. The bottom is pretty week and will need a plate to keep from cracking around mount. Also there is no lock and the hinges are pretty cheap. So if your thinking of getting a tour pak you may want to look at a new or used harley box. I hope this will help someone make a better choice.

i was looking at those or a used Hd tour pak on eBay.

but by the time you buy hinges lock set and have it painted or fixed if need be you might as well buy a new one.
i lucked out and got 20% off mine and it came painted to match.

Get whay you pay for. I had one of the cheap tour paks on my previous Ultra. Bought the bike used and that's the way it came - long story. Anyway, the tour pak was okay but definitely not HD quality. It had a really cheap latch that rattled like crazy when the bike was at idle. IMO, if you run and use a tour pak all the time then invest in a good quality HD pak. If you detach and use only a few times a year then one of the cheaper paks will probably do.

Or you cold buy the black aftermarket one for $110(no lights) and use it for the trip and take it off. That aftermarket one is pretty good for the price and doesn't look bad

You pays your money and takes your chances.

I have purchased quite a fewparts on EBay. Through trial & error I now only buy OEM parts from sellers with a very high approval rating. Good place to save some money.
