I live in Durham. I checked with the dealership in (I think Burlington....Davis HD). Good folks and fair prices. Shelton's HD in Durham......limited stock and higher prices......stories about turn-over in the shop area.....Ray Price HD in Raleigh. I got two bikes from Ray Price. He has a good selection and good prices. The shop techs are excellent. I recommend Ray Price HD in Raleigh.

I'm currently in Atlanta, but I am from central NC (High Point / Winston-Salem -- actually 'Horneytown' -- I kid you not, look it up). My best and longest friend who also rides lives about 30 minutes east of raleigh and has dealt with both Ray Price and Shelton's (they have multiple locations I believe...) as mentioned above. I believe he actually bought his bike from Shelton's but has had good experiences both places.

Depending on what you mean by 'central' NC, I can tell you that I've had good experiences with the parts departments at both Tilley's in Salisbury and Curly's in Winston. I can't speak to their sales prices.

Good luck.

Peace,
RoadWolf

Check out Gene Lumis Harley. Gene is a legend and runs a terrific dealership. I have heard mixed reviews about buying bikes from Ray Price. I do know that the service dep at Ray Price is way overpriced and sort of clueless for anything outside of factory stage 2 upgrades and other important RUB hand grip and braided cable sort of thing.

If your in the Charlotte area we have 4 dealerships.

out of the 4 these two are the best in my opinion.

1) Carolina HD (located in Gastonia N.C.)
2) Charlotte HD (located in Matthews N.C.)
