Dealer Competence??

I know you all hate Dealer horror stories, but couldn't resist. Bought NEW '08 Super Glide Custom in April '08. Had bike in for upgrades 2Xs since my purchase. Besides being charged almost $1000.00 for 1K tune-up, new handle bars, grips, and (required??) new cables, discovered I have no inspection sticker on the plate! Being new to the road bike, I never even new there should be one, till a friend pointed it out to me the other day. Can't wait till this thing is 2 years old!!!

Dunno how things work in the dirty Jerz, but in Pa we only have registration stickers on our plates. Unless you had a inspection plate installed. Either way, my Aunt got a scooter, brand new, and they didnt send it out with a sticker on it. They also apparently didnt feel too badly enough to cover getting it inspected locally (about a 45 min ride away to the scooter dealer). You'd think they just opened!

Hey Diesel,
On a new bike in Jerzeee, the inspection stick is good for 4 years. I saw the sales rep today, and politely asked her about the sticker. I was basically verbally attacked that it was MY responsibility to bring the bike back when I had the sufficient state documentation. I smiled, turned around, and walked away. I now believe dealers think we are all rich. I'm not. They smile at you with a knife behind ther backs.

Yeah - that damn warranty is a double edged sword.

I just replaced a Oil Pressure sender that should have been covered under warranty, but I didn't have time to fool with the service department over a $30 part.

$50.00 co-pay for a $30 part, right?
