Mikes Famous HDin Groton, CT, attempted rip off!!
Customers beware of the Service Department at Mikes Famous Harley Davidson in Groton, CT. My '03 Night Train came from the factory with an alarm system (of course no speaker, that way HD can screw another $100 out of you). So I bought the speaker through the dealership, but they wanted another $100 to install the speaker. The mechanic said it would take an hour and it involved removing the rear wheel to do it. I brought the bike home, removed the 2 bolts that hold the plastic fender skirt in, plugged in and mounted the speaker, and had the skirt bolted back in. It took me 5 minutes...literally...and I never did it before. Not only that, but my bike is lowered, which made it harder to fit my hand in there. It's bad enough I had to pay $100 for a speaker that should have come with the bike, but then they got greedy and tried to screw me out of another $100. Imagine that, $200 to make my bike chirp!! $200 they want to make the alarm system operate at it's full potential!! Screw that service department.

There are many repair shops that deal the same way. Most car dealers go by the book for all repairs,so it goes to say that bike dealers would do the same.
If they charge book rates and it takes longer(but it wont) they eat it.That is what they say when they are caught by the customer. Those book rates are drawn up to make profits and an idiot with no tools could do the same job faster in less time.

Radio shack here too. And then all my buddys did the same thing. We now all have bikes that sound like a vidio game.

FWIW, when you but these kinds of things, be sure to check Zanotti's. $76.50 including shipping.
I always try to put an order together when I buy from them. Filters or what ever along with what ever I need. Saves on shipping.
