Progressive Suspension gets an F

Hi, just wanted to let you guys know that if you are thinking about using Progressive suspension and need assistance, you won't get it. I called for a week straight and emailed, and never got my call returned once, nor my email. I ended up shipping my original Works Street Trackers back to Works to get them softened up, as they were too stiff. Works could not have been nicer and they returned every call. I originally wanted assistance with the Progressive product line as I was thinking about the 440's and 418's, because I did not want to have any down time from shipping back to Works. Many that replied to my original thread in the suspension forum also complained about Progressive customer service. Progressive gets an F in my book and Works gets an A. Works may cost a bit more but when you need live help, you will get it!

I looked for the number to call customer service.

I used the one on this page: http://www.progressivesuspension.com/contact.html

I dialed :
Warranty / Techline -
714.523.8700

The automated phone picked up on the second ring, I had a live person on the line in about 15 seconds. She was very nice when I asked about 440's for a 2008 StreetGlide. She answered each question cheerfully and quickly.

It is 3pm here on a Wednesday. What time/day did you call ?

I had a slight problem with fork springs, called Progressive Techline, they were courteous and helpful, as well as knowledgeable (my bike is not real common).

Bought an 05 Roadking used with Progressives on it. I neglected to get the adjuster tool from the guy when I left. E-mailed Progessive and asked about getting one and 3 days later one showed up in my mail-box free of charge. I was truely impressed with them

I had no trouble getting them on the phone a few years ago but the guy knew nothing about their products. Basically, I was on my own.

We need to remember it is a few days before Sturgis and a lot of dealers and vendors are swamped this time of year for a couple weeks. I have come to realize not to be doing to much serious tinkering just before Sturgis for that very reason. Sturgis week can be a make or brake week for a lot of vendors. It is a pretty big deal in the motorcycle community

I had a set of 440 I needed some service on and they couldn't have been more helpful or easier to contact. Completely rebuilt my 5 year old 440's and changed the springs from regular to heavy duty ones, total cost including shipping, $40! Additionally, they stayed in contact and kept me informed of what was going on every step of the way.

Now THAT is #1 Customer Service . I just called Progressive a few minutes ago to discuss 412 vs. 440, and spring load (regular vs. heavy duty). I had a "live" person within 30-seconds. She was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and polite.

I'm going to go 12.5". Now I just have to decide between the 412 and the 440

LOL...

Yeah... EVERYBODY after the OP chimed in with support for Progressive.

Wonder if the OP works for "Works"?

My experience is that their customer service is great. I blew up a set of 440s and they were real quick to reply and repair them under warranty.

I put 412's and fork springs on my Honda VTX and couldnt tell a bit of difference. Honestly a waste of money. Maybe the 440's are a different story. My Street Glide rides much better...I love the handling...
