Beware Helmet Source (helmetsource.com)
I ordered a helmet from this company in mid-May. I paid extra for expedited "in-house processing" and 2 day shipping. After 6 weeks, and numerous calls to their "customer service" number, most of which went unanswered, I finally received the helmet. I had already filed a BBB complaint a couple of weeks earlier, and had told Helmet Source that I didn't want the helmet anymore, but they said I had to have it in order to start an RMA request.
As soon as I received the helmet, I opened the box, slipped the requested RMA request form into the box, and re-shipped it back.
This was on June 30. After hearing nothing, receiving no reply to several email status requests, and no other communication, I finally reached them today, to be told that my return was refused due to "scratches and hair in the helmet".
This is a completely unscrupulous company, and they should be avoided at all cost!!

Reeeeeediculous! Doubtful you will get anywhere with the BBB...what about your credit card company - can you do a chargeback?

Agreed. The BBB is nothing more than a scam. Call your credit card company, tell them the story, tell them you want to dispute the charge and get your money back.
That's why I always, ALWAYS use a VISA or M/C to buy stuff on line or by phone.

Yeah - that's what I'm doing now. Visa had told me to go the RMA route first. I probably should have just given up on that weeks ago, but I've been busy.

I had a really really bad experience with NexL helmets myself. Seems helmet people tend to be bastards. It sucks.

Wish I had seen this post earlier. I ordered 2 helmets for me and my wife. They didnt take screw me. They actually credited my account on the day I should have recieved my helmets. I would kinda like to know what happened to my order. Ive emailed them twice with no response and there is no longer a phone number listed on their website.

I had a bad experience with thehelmetsource.com too.
I'll spare you the details, but I had to get the US distributor for the product I bought involved, and even then it wasn't easy. Moreover, the distributor said a few things along the way that make me think the helmet source is some sort of rogue, not the first time they'd heard complaints.
If any one WANTs the details, I'm happy to explain further but I'd avoid these ripoff artistes like the proverbial plague....

They scammed me too. I had to exchange a helmet because it was a size too small. Never heard back from the company. Contacted credit card company (Visa through Commerce Bank) and filed a dispute. Visa told me to return the helmet and I did. After 30 days of no response from the helmet source, I got temporarily refunded my money. Visa then said the helmet source claimed I didn't send back the extra face shield and free dome liner so visa is not refunding me for those items. Absolutely pathetic for Visa to take the side of this company calling me dishonest not returning my money after I sent it back because they instructed me to... Now because of Visa through Commerce Bank, I'm out of the items and money.
BUT, I think there are more then enough issues on this company to file a class action lawsuit. It will just be a matter of finding them. Their BBB rating is horrid, especially in return/exchanges. Interested?

Their local number is 916-624-3108. They answered it on the 3rd call. We'll see if I get the jacket I ordered.

Let me add another bad company to do business with to this growing list. If you want to have a bad experience with a helmet company that has an "attitude", send your money to Iron Horse Helmets located in Georgia. I won't go into the gory details but suffice it to say I took a hosin and "they don't do refunds, period".

I too had problems with The Helmet Source. I had to send a complaint form to my credit card company to get my refund. The Helmet Source are as unscrupulous as they come. They ought to be shut down. I also filed a complaint with the BBB, but didn't get any results. I hope there is a class action lawsuit against.
