HD Credit: buffoons? they can't ReFi a HD bike they have Financed.

i finally found a bike i want, halfway across the Good Ole US of A.

guy has it financed thru HD.
and i really hate going to someone with a check from a local bank, and going "oh yeah, it's good, believe me, it's good"

it's WAY to easy to print up fake checks now. i just thought, "man it would be easy, walk up, say, let's call HD credit, they can verify it's all good"

HD credit advertises on thier HD credit website Through Harley-Davidson Credit, you may finance the motorcycle of your dreams—new or used models dating back to 1903.

too me, this means that HD credit will finance any HD bike, regardless of whether you are buying the bike from a dealer, or from an individual.

well, after 20 minutes on hold and 10 minutes of banging my head on the wall, i have determined HD credit will not finance seller-to-buyer,

we both have to go into a dealer, and do the paperwork.
my dealership charges $200 to do that.

So i asked the HD credit Rep,
"what if he is in another state"
she says "you will have to go into two dealerships, you into yours, and him into his local dealer"

uumm...NO, that means $200 here and $200 there ....umm.. not only NO, but. ___ NO

so then I ask "what if I don't like my local dealer, and my local dealer don't like me"

she says "what do you mean"

and i say "why do you think i am buying a bike half way across the country? because i don't want to be treated like an idiot"

she says "well, that is what you have to do....."

i guess i will go to my local bank, where they treat me decent, and don't charge me $200 to do the paperwork, and get a better rate.

AND not have to PAY $6 every month to make the payment online.

HD Credit "what a bunch of ass clowns"

The only reason I have a loan with them right now is because the APR was so cheap I couldn't pass it up. Every time you call them your on hold for at least 30 minutes before someone answers the phone. I'd say they only got like 10 people working at any given time. There service is totally ****. I have auto pay set up with them and they don't charge me $6.00 extra or anything. Beware of the dealership tagging on exta % on the loan. I've heard that they will stick it to ya if you don't know your credit/becon score. If your in the mid 700's you should get a rate for around 7-8% anything higher than that your getting screwed. Good luck on your purchase.

H-D's credit rules are what they are. Deal with them or not. I wouldn't. There are better choices.

A friend of mine sold his Heritage, that he paid cash for, to someone using HD credit, in 2005. It can be done, but most dealers won't do it.(or it could back then and something has changed)

i think it's spelled Buffoons anyways.

but, yes Paul, they buyer prolly had to pay the $$ to dealer to do the paperwork.

the $6 is if you click in to manually make your payment, like i get paid every 2 weeks, not by the calendar, so i want to click in pay it as quick as possible, they were charging $2 to do it, and they said it was going to $6 every time.

it is: what it is, and there are better options.
