i finally found a bike i want, halfway across the Good Ole US of A.
guy has it financed thru HD.
and i really hate going to someone with a check from a local bank, and going "oh yeah, it's good, believe me, it's good"
it's WAY to easy to print up fake checks now. i just thought, "man it would be easy, walk up, say, let's call HD credit, they can verify it's all good"
HD credit advertises on thier
HD credit website Through Harley-Davidson Credit, you may finance the motorcycle of your dreams—new or used models dating back to 1903.
too me, this means that HD credit will finance any HD bike, regardless of whether you are buying the bike from a dealer, or from an individual.
well, after 20 minutes on hold and 10 minutes of banging my head on the wall, i have determined HD credit will
not finance seller-to-buyer,
we both have to go into a dealer, and do the paperwork.
my dealership charges $200 to do that.
So i asked the HD credit Rep,
"what if he is in another state"
she says "you will have to go into two dealerships, you into yours, and him into his local dealer"
uumm...NO, that means $200 here and $200 there ....umm.. not only NO, but. ___ NO
so then I ask "what if I don't like my local dealer, and my local dealer don't like me"
she says "what do you mean"
and i say "why do you think i am buying a bike half way across the country? because i don't want to be treated like an idiot"
she says "well, that is what you have to do....."
i guess i will go to my local bank, where they treat me decent, and don't charge me $200 to do the paperwork, and get a better rate.
AND not have to PAY $6 every month to make the payment online.
