Thumbs down Ridegear WARNING / Complaint

Re: www.ridegear.com

I usually would not complain about “slow” service but “NO service”?

After placing an order with this company more than 3 months ago for an item listed as a “Featured Closeout” (and after confirming by phone with this company that they actually had the correct size and color in stock), the bad news started.

The company had no problem charging me for the item and about 5 days later sent a confirmation email that the order was no longer available but I could have an additional 25% credit toward another item. (Warning #1)

I responded via email to simply cancel the order and not charge me.

I made numerous phone calls (lost count how many) to customer service and sent 8-9 emails. No returned calls and only an automated email response (Warning #2)

Phone messages and emails were continuously pursued as I simply was trying to find an amicable solution to the return of my funds. Two (2) months have passed by now. (“Warning Will Robertson danger, danger!”)

Finally I got someone there to answer a phone via an order line and got transferred around. The person stated that they were so sorry and that they had “changed credit card handling companies”??? but they would send me by priority mail a check in the full amount of my order within a week.

A week or so later a check arrives, I deposit it, Finally a resolution, or so I thought!

The COMPANY CHECK BOUNCED!

My advise is deal with your local motorcycle shop 1st, If you can’t work out a satisfactory “deal” shop only with other legitimate mail order dealers that have excellent ratings for service.

I have found that this company has a lot of complaints filed with agencies such as the BBB. Now they will have others filed with the Calofornia consumer protection office, Atty Gen, Postal Inspector and BBB

Why wouldn't you/didn't you simply file a dispute with your credit card company? End of problem.

Me too!!!! Be very aware!!!!!

I'm not a Harley guy but I was looking into this company and found this thred. I'm having the same problem you did. I ordered a helmet a month ago and received an email that day confirming my order and it said I would receive another email within four days with my tracking info and shipment confirmation. I have not heard a thing from them since. I'm in the process of a credit card dispute as we speak. I can't believe I didn't look into this before ordering. I guess I just got too comfortable ordering stuff online. I've never had a problem with anything since I got my first computer ten years ago. I have learned my lesson. I will not be placing any more orders online. I hope this dispute ends in the return of my money.

Sounds like my experience with NEXL helmets. I don't understand how businesses like this can stay in business at all. Even for a short time. Or how they can treat people this way.

Unreal.
