Right this was an invitation gig last Friday night that saw the launching of the new Dublin Harley-Davidson Premises.
Firstly, let me say a few things here, the new premises is huge and on a par with any you will find world wide and well done to them for providing a decent dealership in our own capital.
The usual suspects were all out to wish them well, some old faces and some new ones. It was great to see Bill Northcote of Harley-davidson Europe there to open them officially and unveil the "Rocker" and "The Crossbones". Bill is the man in charge of dealership developement for Harley in Europe and the man loves his job and loves to ride, I have seen him in action on the ride out for the opening of Waterford Harley-Davidson and had to ride like a demon to keep up. It is nice to see a real biker's biker in his position in the company.
Now on with what happed on the night, well "Free" beer and food was on offer, along with all the models on display, and the "Rocker", "The Crossbones" ,the "XR1200" and the new Buells. Myself and some friends were there to enjoy ourselves and soak up the atmosphere. We wondered around looking at everything and trying to take it all in, As with any new dealership being opened there was a great party feeling that had people chatting about all the new harley and blabbing out stories from back in the day.
The bike that caught my eye was "The Crossbones", in the flesh it is a spectacular bike. Out side a classic 50's/60's look to it, "The Crossbones" really does have the feel of an old world bike but with very modern engineering, I loved it, I loved It, and may even be tempted to do something rash...soon, if I can bring myself to part with the dyna.
Anyway enough blab from me, I will let the fotos speak for themselves.
