Hal's HD, New Berlin Wi

Hey to all, was in Milwaulkee a couple of weeks ago as luck would have it picked up a nail in an almost new tire...No plugs tires for liabilty reason (or so they say) but any how got a new tire at Hal's...Didn't ride it after install, just put it on the trailer and brought it back to Maryland.

So I'm in the garage cleaning up the bike and notice the drive belt is hanging 2- 2 1/2 inches below the black plactic belt cover. Didn't have a tool to tighten so slowly drove it to my local dealer...was hoping they would do it for free as another Harley dealer did the work...nope, forgot about that independantly owned part...so I paid for it...I called Hal's spoke to the Service tech who set my tire replacement up and he said send us the bill and we'll reimburse..and suprise to me they sent me a check for the whole amount.

Now I know it should of been done right to begin with (and I should of checked) I'll know better next time. But is was good of Hal's to reimburse for the expense....CSM-H

Shouldn't even be a question as to whether they would reimburse the repair cost.

Just curious though, did you check to see if they had the rear axle tight before riding it to the local dealer and how much did they charge to tighten the belt?

2klfhr, to answer your question, like a dumb ***, I did NOT ckeck...I assumed the job was done right, won't do that again...The total charge was $27.00 (much less than I thought it would be) but it was the principle of the thing that caused me to ask for reimbursement. CSM-H

I was Hal's for tuning, twice, still not right. A lot of unhappy customers while I was there, both times.
