CVO owners w "110" letter coming from MOTO

Just heard a letter will be mailed to owners of CVO's with regard to an engine recall. Mailing date is 11 August. Have not seen it but I think it makes reference to replacing or upgrading some motor parts. I have 9K on mine with no problems, although I have a friend who has had valve guide, oil leaks.

Mine is an 08 softail. The letter basically called it an upgrade, not a recall. They redesigned the head gasket, something to do with the ACR valves, and the crank centre bolt. I had them change mine to a stage two since they had it all apart, they charged me for 3 hours labour, 4 hours dyno, and parts. All said and done it came out to 2400 and change.

If anyone has any concerns and not received a letter, go to your local HD dealer and they can check your VIN on the dealer net for this upgrade. I checked mine since it was built in May 08 and fortunately already have the upgrade before it left HD factory (apparently). 5000 miles plus and no issues.

Thumbs down Update On Se Recall

Well, so much for a dealer VIN check. I just got my letter today to get a "frre product upgrade" with no specifics mentioned. A book accompanied the letter to soften the blow, no doubt. A hardback book entitled "Archive Collection", a history of the company by model and year.
