Recovery, as it relates to being clean and sober, is the regaining or the restoration of one's mental and physical health.
Maturity, as it relates to being clean and sober, implies a perfected condition, or that someone is fully developed.
Example- After five months of sobriety I confidently gave the open cold beer that was bought for me to someone else.
And yes, being spiritual, as it relates to being clean and sober, does help tremendously. For I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Yet, make no mistake; the world is full of spiritual derelicts.
Thus, if your ultimate goal is 100% sobriety, the onus, the obligation, the "hard work" if you will, still falls on you.
Good luck and God Bless
