Thanks Patrick.
He tried photography and took a class in school and didn't care for it. He's 18 and what he likes to do changes by the week.

Another update it's been a while.
The kid is in his second year of collage and going great. He has two roommates paying him rent so he covers expenses from them. The house is looking good after we did the complete remodeling.
Strange but he doesn't drink....

thanks for the update. it really is nice to hear things are going well and it seems like miles since the origional post. hopefully he will never pick up a drink but at least he has the right person to talk to in his corner.

I've not seen this thread until today. Happy to read that things are going well for the kid. I think as time passes you get distance from these things, but you never get over them. My belated condolences to all of you.

 What pjc said.
Too many times these stories have different endings. Awfully nice to read of this young man's progress and has to be rewarding for you to see such positive strides. He's had a good example. Nice job.

Great news Vin. Has he decided on his career path yet?

Sort of he's taking sound right now like designing the sound systems for churches, malls that kind of thing. He's still not sure.

He is still relatively young and seeing what will attract his interest. If he does go into sound system design, it's more than just stringing wires now a days. It all about understanding both audio and video, and all the electronics that go with that. I have a friend who is a sound engineer and his business picked up tremendously in the last ten years as he designed and had his workers install AV systems all over Silicon Valley.
