Financing a chopper

To anyone in the know,

I am interested in purchasing a bike from a bike builder out of Florida and I know that they do not offer financing.

I do not have the out of pocket cash to purchase one of their bikes, would anyone know of a company that is easy to work with when trying to finance a chopper?

Also, what are the additional issues I might encounter regarding insurance?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

I am no expert but I know some builders have been certified and can issue titles, etc. If yours is a one off builder then maybe it will be hard to insure and finance. Maybe a home equity loan?

Just stick with a name brand like Big Dog or IronHorse and buy from an authorized dealer. They will arrange financing the same way Harley dealers do it.
Also, warranties from a major manufacturer are a good thing. No problem insuring these bikes.

Not only do the manufactured custom bikes have VINs, they are much easier to insure and most of all,,,,,,when you want to sell it, there is a value in the NADA, so buying/selling one will catch you on both ends.

Don't know much about financing. You have to try to find a credit union or small bank that will finance a "recreational vehicle" at a reasonable rate. This will not be easy to do unless you have at least 10% of the purchase price in cash. In some cases the cc's of the motor will affect the interest rate. Another important factor will be the title. Is it a manufactured bike or is it an assembled bike? This will affect both the interest rate and the insurance. Most insurance companies refuse to insure 'assembled' bikes, even if you have proof of thier value from a licensed appraiser. Take your time and dont buy the first "pretty skirt" you come across.
