New bike - when my mech says to take off all "EPA junk"...

Hey y'all - new here and just got my '05 AIH Tejas. Love the bike to death!! So the other day my service guy tells me to bring the bike back some time so he can take all the "EPA crap" off and it will run like a bat outta hell. Sorry if I'm a complete newbie but what is he talkin' about? Or is he just tellin' me to get ride of the stock pipes and rejet??

Thanks

I think I would ask the service guy what he meant. Not sure what kind of "EPA" stuff there is on an AIH anyway.
By the way, since I live in Fort Worth I toured the AIH factory a couple of months ago. They produce a quality product if I had $25-30K laying around I'd sell my Dyna and get one.

Bought a '05 AIH Legend 3 weeks ago. Waiting on a rebuild kit for the rear brake reservoir from AIH, and this morning the rear tire is flat. 500 miles so far............just had the 500 mile service.
I changed to SYN3 in all 3 holes, but when I called the factory regarding this, they were of no help. The bike definatly is a blast.

pretty sure he's talking about a restrictor plate in the carb.

Why, is the bike set up to run NASCAR? The likley EPA parts would be a cap over the idle mixture screw that can be removed to adjust the idle mixture. If the bike is sold in California and they don't have a specific california only model, then it might also have a catalyst matrix in one or both of the mufflers, and a vapor recovery charcoal canister.
